My feet has touched ground again after the last two weeks of travel to the United States. I am home again safe and sound, to face the challenges and opportunities that lie before me in God’s great plan for my life. Praise the Lord. Great has been His faithfulness.
It must still be sitting at the feet of Jesus where I shall learn of His purpose and strategy, His plans and directions for the days ahead. Without Him I can do nothing.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
Oh, what words I hear Him say!
Happy place! so near, so precious!
May it find me there each day;
Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
I would look upon the past;
For His love has been so gracious,
It has won my heart at last.
Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
Where can mortal be more blest?
There I lay my sins and sorrows,
And, when weary, find sweet rest;
Sitting at the feet of Jesus,
There I love to weep and pray;
While I from His fullness gather
Grace and comfort every day.
Bless me, O my Savior, bless me,
As *I sit low at Thy feet; [*I’m waiting]
Oh, look down in love upon me,
Let me see Thy face so sweet;
Give me, Lord, the mind of Jesus,
Keep me holy as He is;
May I prove I’ve been with Jesus,
Who is all my righteousness.
How easy it is to be tempted to put teachers above the gospel of Jesus Christ! Sometimes we may want to sit at the feet of a certain preacher or teacher (Acts 22:3). We must always remember that people can be led away by preachers that tell them all the “sugar and spice and everything nice” that they can handle. This can also happen by reading books of men and listening to their podcasts. Many people have departed from God by following books of men that entice them away from God’s Word (2 Timothy 4:1-5).
The way we keep from following man is by always sitting at the feet of Jesus (Luke 8:35, 10:39)! Jesus is the only one with all authority (Luke 4:32, Matthew 7:28-29). Christians should never bow down at the feet of men or their teaching, but always bow down at the feet of Jesus (Revelation 1:17-18, Matthew 28:16-20)!
Have you sat at the feet of Jesus today? It is most worthwhile to be sure, to spend time there with Jesus, the only One who matters for eternity in your life.
Take time to be with Jesus.
Let’s turn to Luke 10:38-42 and allow the Holy Spirit to calm our nerves and guide us into divine truth.
One day Jesus stopped in to visit his friends Mary and Martha.
Martha welcomed him into their home and began to hurry frantically to prepare a meal for their guest.
Mary sat down at Jesus’ feet and listened to his beautiful teachings.
A spirit of anger and bitterness took root in Martha’s heart as she watched her sister resting quietly with their guest, while she did all the work and she felt it was unfair for her to have to do all the work and said “LORD, don’t you care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her to come and help me!”
Jesus said, “Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall
not be taken away from her. Luke 10:41-42
May we always sit at the feet of Jesus, learn to test what we learn from others against what the Word of God says, and with what we hear from Jesus directly through His Holy Spirit. May I prove I’ve been with Jesus,
Who is all my righteousness.
