Five year old Mandy said “No” to everything she was asked to do. She really meant “I can’t” till mommy told her to say “I will try” instead of “No!”. Then I taught her to pray to ask the Lord to help her each time the “N” word is rising in her throat. That was the encouragement she needed to begin saying “I can, I can.”
In this brand new year 2012, will you end up by saying more “I can’t” or more “I can”? Will saying “I will try” make it better for you?
The world says “Say, you can in your own strength”, and that is why there are so many in the dumps, disappointed, discouraged, despairing, down and out. That shouts “You CAN’T” really.
Paul reminds us “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37.
Say “No” to negativism in the face of all odds and be powered not by your own strength, but by the strength of the Lord to be a conqueror this year. Say “I can through Him!”
Jesus did not mince His words when He told the lame man to “Rise up and walk” (Luke 5) and Peter followed suit on another occasion. Acts 3:6 “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk”.
The lame man was healed in the Name of Jesus. He just had to put his faith in action to rise up and walk. So, we too can be healed of our negativism and rise up in faith, to walk in His strength, being more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
He knows the way, He walks and talks with us along life’s narrow way.
Let us say a little prayer and walk courageously in the Name of Jesus, in 2012.
Let us get back to basics.
Listen to Glen Campbell’s testimony and be encouraged:
It’s different now
It’s Jesus and Me for each tomorrow
God can do anything
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10
Amen and amen!
