The Beauty Of God

This is a picture I took outside my home; the colors and the cloud formations are nice!

My eyes behold the breath-taking beauty of a brilliant orange and yellow sunset. I have a thing about sunsets and sunrises…I love the color and the almost surreal beauty I see. The many varied colors and the lines and shapes within the sunrise or sunset. The warm glow of colors above a row of trees, filling the sky above with eye popping displays of light. The sun setting over fresh fallen snow, it’s scintillating colors a reminder of God’s artwork.   It is just incredible how astonishingly beautiful some of these are.

How could we look at such a simple but yet marvelous display of beauty in the sky, and not see the hand of the Creator behind it? Who or what else, could place something so amazing in the sky? Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Pause for a moment when the sun is rising or setting, and just soak in the beauty that God has presented before you. You are gazing on a manifestation of God’s glory! His creation will glorify Him in many ways, this is only one, but oh so wonderful to see.

Pause and see the beauty of His creation around you, and then give thanks. Ephesians 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is the song I was thinking of as I wrote this, the lyrics are wonderfully praising of God. Mercyme, All Of Creation

Glory to God, today, tomorrow and forever. Thank you Father for the wonders of creation you provide for our souls to drink in. Let us praise your Name always and forever. Amen.

A prodigal for many years, I eventually found my way back to Jesus through several difficult trials. I write with the hope that I can bless others who have struggled as I have. I seek through Christ to present the truth, and lead others to the cross of Calvary. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. There is no other. Psalm 19:1 has always been a favorite of mine since childhood growing up in beautiful rural surroundings southwest of Jackson, MS. Mercy and goodness and His lovingkindness surround us in Creation, oh, yes!

You are at least twice gifted with patience and composition. And.. the ability to recognize His intelligent design.

So lovely. Thank you for sharing God’s beautiful painting in the sky.

  4. Excellent post! I too love sunsets and sunrises! I miss seeing them over the ocean. I remember watching the sunrise with my husband Mark at Crater Lake this summer. It was our first glimpse of the lake, and it was such as awesome moment! I will never forget how I marveled at God’s glory and His creation that day. I LOVE your sunset picture. It is beautiful!

I teach environmental education for a living, and I am surrounded by people who seem to worship God’s creation, but who have never met the Creator. It makes me so sad because God’s fingerprints are everywhere on Earth. MercyMe’s song is so awesome because it speaks about how all creation is designed to cry out, praise and glorify God. May we do the same!

Thank you so much for this wonderful blog. It is a breath of fresh air. :)

Thank you! That scene you describe sounds lovely. I remember seeing the sun over the ocean when I used to travel to Maine and surrounding states, it was beautiful.
Yes so many will see the beauty in God’s creation and not give their worship its proper place…God.
