Luck 23:34
“And Jesus said, O Father, forgive them, for they know what they are doing…………..
As Christians we are to be as Jesus is! Yep! That is a goal, but most often we be come side tracked, and when that happens we forget to whom we belong. Whitney Houston, was a child of God, was raised in the church and now is with the Lord.
Her story is a reminder to all of us that when we fall astray from our God, we become an open target to the enemy. It is a tragic event to lose an icon such as Whitney Houston , especially her being Christian. But know this: She is with the Lord, and our God Is in control, as always. As I write this I pray for peace and comfort for her family, in Jesus name, Amen!
LOS ANGELES – Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music’s queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, erratic behavior and a tumultuous marriage to singer Bobby Brown, has died, Fox News confirms. She was 48.
Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died.
The Beverly Hills Police Department responded to an emergency call at the Beverly Hills Hotel Saturday, Lt. Mark Rosen, of the Bevery Hills Police Department said.

You are very correct, we, as Christians, can become side-tracked and at time wayward for a season. But we must never forget that if we are never led to convicition (godly discipline) for our sin that leads us to repentance, we may very well be void of any truth to our Christian claim (Hebrews 12:4-17 and 10:26-31). We all need to keep in mind the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23 as well. In Matthew 7 these people were devout followers of Jesus Christ and did many mighty things, but their hearts were deceived. I am not at all saying that we need to be perfect, but conviction and confession of sin that leads to repentance is to be a reality in the life of a true believer.
Please hear me here, I am not at all saying that Whitney was not right with the Lord, but I am very careful to say that she was/is right based simply off of her verbalization of faith. Remember the Lord views the heart. What Whitney’s story should be doing for us now is the cause us to really examine the reality of our Christian claim (2 Corinthians 13:5). Are we really what we claim?
Prayers to her family.
Thank you for your post.

As a believer I’ve learned that as long as My god is in charge and no one can go wrong; therefor what ever happens has permission from above!
Speak, we are listening. God’s voice is always with US, awake or asleep.
It swirls around us like fog on a waterfront,
enveloping us, gently urging us to wake up, to listen.
Awareness of the voice comes first, then willingness to listen
then, in time, the decision to act, to live according to God’s word.
Let’s ask today for the ability to keep our ears
open so we don’t miss God’s voice.
In times of trouble, I’ve give learned to trust God’s word.
For through the spirit’s teaching, my savior’s voice I’ve heard.
May God bless us all!
The Greatest Love of all is Jesus. I think she was singing about Jesus. Though she went astray she knew who her savior was.
Amen! thank you for stopping by.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
My heartfelt condolences to Whitney’s family. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
I stand in agreement with you, and thank you for your agape love.
Thank you for your very reassuring and strengthening post about Whitney’s Christianity here. God gave her a most unique way of singing “The Greatest Love of All” which will continue to touch hearts for Him on and on and on! Praise God! Thank you for reminding us lovingly and gently about the pitfalls of the ways of this world that we sadly watched Whitney fall into! As I tweeted to a dear friend, “May angels attend Whitney to her rest.”
You are so on target on this, which tells me you are guided by the Holy Spirit, I thank you for your kind comment, may God continue blessing you and yours!
I am reminded of a saying my Pastor makes in relation to being a Christian and a guaranteed life with Jesus in heaven, “Living in a garage does not make you a car. Growing up in the church does not give you a ticket to heaven.”
We cannot presume anyone’s destination for eternity. Scriptures tell us only Christ knows His children, only He knows their hearts, and nothing about them is hidden from Him.
Amen. So glad it is the Lord who knows ultimately who are His who hear His Voice and follow Him.
Thank you for your comment, there is no assumption, here, but hope! Whitney Houston was Christian and often talk about her faith. And you are correct by saying living in the garage does not make you a car, how ever ling in the garage will introduce and familiarize you with the tools and will equipped one with the car knowledge ………
No disrespect but how do we know she is with lord just becuase someone says a prayer to Jesus and accpets them in your heart? That person has to live it out a life obediant to God till the day they die. Salvation has conditions he who endures to the end shall be saved Matthew chapter 24 verse 13. I hope she did make it to end but i seriously doubt that due to the fact that she was trying to make come back in to the industry (the world) which our Lord and Saviour forbides us to have fellowship with the world according to James chapter 4 verse 4.
Thank you for your comment Mark, But let us not forget That God is not an indian Giver. When Jesus went to the Cross He went to the Cross once. There are no Conditions to salvation for it is a gift, a free gift. As human being we are fallible and prone to sin and fall short of glory of our Lord, But as long as we repent our God is merciful enough to forgive us. What God see’s when He looks at uswhit all our faults all He see is the Blood of His Son. And as far as Whitney Houston making come back in the music industry, I have a Job which is in the world, you have a Job which is in the word. The Bible says : be in the world , but not of the world! God Bless you and thank once again for your comment.
Anthony
Mark gave some thought provoking comments to the blogging table and you, wdednh, responded well. I would like to add God’s assurance of salvation as stated in John 3:16 and John 10:27-30. Eternal life is well… eternal, forever, without end. If we believe in Jesus Christ, acknowledge Him as the Son of the One and Only true God, Who came to this earth to die for us all because of our wrongdoings, then our spirit lives forever with Him in Heaven. Nothing we do changes that.
Keep the Faith!
Thank you for writing about this with the Lord’s perspective. Blessings and prayers, Susan
You are more than welcome and God Bless you and yours
Amen. Great reminder. God bless her daughter, family and host of friends and fans. What a tragic loss. My prayers are even with Bobby even though I am seeing such madness written about him behind this. We all fall into some form of temptation and sin. It’s a choice we make and learn from at some point. ( I hope ) Being consumed can sometimes override our healing and deliverance if we don’t stay close to the Lord. Whitney looked healthy as of recent pics but only God truly knows what inner turmoil she was facing. She went home to be with him now. I stand in agreement. Thank you for sharing this. She will be missed greatly……
God bless you.
She will surely missed , and God bless you and yours
We pray for Whitney Houston’s family that they will find the peace of God in this hour of grief and bereavement.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Psalm 34:18
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.Psalm 51:17
May the Lord remind each one of us to keep close to the Lord for only there is safety against the enemy.
Amen!
