The Path to “Shalom”: Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (New International Version 1984) – Philippians 4:6-7

This verse has a very simply explained and direct meaning to me. Although many “bad” things have happened to me over the last four-plus years. I have not had single a bad day. As I tell people often, my days are good, gooder or goodest unless I’m with my granddaughters. Then they are gooderest!

Following the wisdom of this verse, I’ve put my trust in Jesus and His promises. He has shown time after time that He is there for me, taking care of those things I need. Most important, He shows me the promise of the “end game.” With that glory in mind, the rest are trifles.

Praise Father. Son and Spirit!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the word ‘good’ used in so many different variations as you have here Art! I love your take… ‘trifles!’ In Christ, everything finds its proper perspective, doesn’t it? God bless, good friend.

  4. Who can ask for anything more?
He IS everything. He gives everything. He supplies our every need. He loves me and wants the very best for me, and I am assured of His continual presence and undertaking.

thanks Art, it’s good to know how the story ends. Like turning to the back page of a novel before reading the whole story… we win, because we are in Him, victory is assured. cheers, Graeme
