SIR ISAAC NEWTON had an exact replica of our solar system made in miniature. The planets revolved around the sun, all geared together by rods, cogs and belts. It was a magnificent structure which drew praise from all.
A visitor, whose philosophy was known to Newton, marvelled at the device, and asked who made it. Sir Isaac simply replied “Nobody”
The visitor objected strongly and Newton again insisted “Nobody made it. The bits and pieces just happened to come together and started revolving in their set orbits with perfect timing, never changing.”
The visitor became angry, insisting that it could not be. Sir Isaac quietly said, “Well, if you can go from here, look at nature around you and believe that it just happened, you can also believe that this precise work of art just happened without a creator.”
THE VISITOR GOT THE MESSAGE. DO YOU?
The chance that the universe came into being by other than direct creation
is comparable with the chance
that a tornado sweeping through a junkyard
might assemble a ready-to-fly Boeing 747 as it passed.
A house testifies there was a builder;
a car demands there was a manufacturer.
So the world, by its existence, proclaims its Creator: God.
GOD:
the uncreated Creator of everything.
Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning, GOD created the heavens and the earth”
Psalm 19:1
“The heavens declare the glory of God”

Great post! Thank you!
We serve an amazing God whose handiwork cannot be denied.
I am sure God was very pleased with Sir Isaac for his simple yet brilliant explanation of an Almighty Creator.
Keep the Faith!
Amen! May we use every opportunity we are given to give a simple explanation of the certain hope within us.
We serve an amazing God!
I once was told that there is no such thing as a true atheist. What we call an atheist today is simply a theist that is living in denial. I am coming to understand this truth of that the longer I live. It is absolutely impossible for anyone of sound mind to see nature and deny God’s existance. The best they can do is simply suppress the truth that they cannot deny.
On a (very good) panel show on TV this week a doctor recently awarded the Nobel Physics Prize impressed me. He called himself a militant atheist. He said there could be no proof of God and no proof against Him. He said he believed in a ‘big bang’ but there was no evidence at all for what was the other side of it. He said he had no explanation of how the universe operated with such precision but just couldn’t accept there was a creator God. He concluded there are things he has to admit that we cannot know.
He was the first honest atheist I’ve heard – and was very sensible with his answers to questions of all sorts (current affairs, politics, morals etc).
Someone said that surely he must be an agnostic, not an atheist, but he said no. An agnostic believes there COULD be a God. He doesn’t, but he accepts that there is no answer to what happened the other side of the ‘big bang’ or how nothing became something.
We certainly serve an amazing creator God!
Praise the Lord He is the only Creator. Others are only reassembling what He has created.
True. Isaac Newton had a novel way of proving his point, but any honest thinking person would have to agree that the very compexity of our universe and everything in it DEMANDS a Creator. Only a fool can say there is no God.
