Psalm 3:5-8 : I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the Lord sustains me. 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. 7 Arise, Lord! Deliver m
e, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. 8 From the Lord comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
Response : Father, nothing can fix a gulf between me and Your grace towards me, and the working of Your grace in me; between Your favour and my faith. I have always been very safe under Your Divine protection, from the mercies of every night, for which I give You thanks every morning. Many lie down, and cannot sleep, through pain of body, or anguish of mind, or the continual alarms of fear in the night. However, You give me calmness of spirit, in the midst of dangers. Lord, by Your grace and the consolations of Your Spirit, and by Your great mercy, when I am in trouble, I can stay my mind on You. I see Jesus, the Son of David composing himself to his rest upon the cross, that bed of sorrows; commending his Spirit into the Father’s hands in full confidence of a joyful resurrection. Behold this, O my soul : let faith teach me how to sleep, and how to die; while it assures me that as sleep is a short death, so death is only a longer sleep; the same God watches over me, in my bed and in my grave. Let my faith become triumphant. and let me conclude this Psalm with rejoicing in the power and grace of You my God, for now I see more with You than against You. Salvation belongs unto the Lord; You have power to save, be the danger ever so great. All that have the Lord for their God, are sure of salvation; for He who is their God, is the God of their and my Salvation. Hallelujah and Amen!

It is wonderful to KNOW Him, Whom to know is eternal security ….from here to heaven. What a privilege, Cloudwatcher! Praise His Name.
“I cannot tell why He, whom angels worship,
Should set His love upon the sons of men”
(William Young Fullerton)
I’ll never know WHY God chose me. I know it wasn’t because of any good He saw in me. I’ll never know WHY He chooses to continue His work in me; why He leads me and protects me and enables me, why He sustains me.
“But this I know, He heals the broken hearted,
And stays our sin, and calms our lurking fear,
And lifts the burden from the heavy-laden”
I know He does, and I praise Him for all His work in me. I rejoice in Him.
“But this I know, the skies will thrill with rapture,
And myriad, myriad human voices sing,
And earth to heaven, and heaven to earth will answer:
At last, the Saviour, Saviour of the world, is King!”
