Psalm 9: 5, 6 : You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name for ever and ever. 6 Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished.
Response : I am reminded of
- The great enemy.
- The destruction he has caused.
- The means of his overthrow.
- The rest which shall ensue.
God rebukes before He destroys, but when He once comes to blows with the wicked He ceases not until He has dashed them in pieces so small that their very name is forgotten, and like a noisome snuff their remembrance is put out for ever and ever. My soul sings of all Thy powers O Lord, You have been and is my sure deliverance.
You have so wonderfully turned my spiritual enemy backward, whether the devil with ”Get thee behind me, Satan;” or my old man, which is turned backward and is put off, and the new man put on. I can exult over my fallen foe, over his prostrate form, and insult his once vaunted strength. I can pluck the boaster’s song out of his mouth, and sing it for him in derision. So does our Glorious Redeemer ask of death, “Where is thy sting?” and of the grave, “Where is thy victory?” The spoiler is spoiled, and he who made captive is led into captivity himself. Let the daughters of Jerusalem go forth to meet their King, and praise him with timbrel and harp. Let us rejoice for He is the Victor, He has the victory. I have the victory over every foe, in Jesus’ Name!. Hallelujah!

There is no doubt of the strength and power of our enemy. He is not only of great power but he is vicious and merciless.
PRAISE GOD he is also a deafeated foe!
