CHRISTIAN TAGALOG BLOGS – Glory food

Nothing like home cooked food for a homesick person. If there is a homesick person who is reading this blog, I refer you to this extremely attractive Filipino site where you are taught how to stir up a storm of Filipino dishes wherever you may be as long as your hands find the ingredients, or adaptations.

Last week, my Pastor Richard, once a missionary to Cebu Philippines, returned from a short trip there. He had a major responsibility to “marry” a couple he had counselled. He shared that he had had two types of  what the Filipinos call “glory” food for if you indulge too much in them, they will bring you to glory much quicker - Crispy PataRecipe (deep fried pork leg) and  Lechon !!! (Spit Roast) “Fiesta version” at the wedding celebration.

It reminds me of how the prodigal son’s father celebrated by killing the fatted calf when the prodigal returned. How long has it been since the Father celebrated our return from our wanderings away from Him? Have we been caught in a web of sin, disobedience, addiction, selfishness and self-centredness? Not realizing that we have missed you in our Father’s courts on Sundays and whenever the church has been open?

It reminds me of how Jesus calls us to come and dine at His table as in the song we used to sing Come and Dine –  from the verse just as He called His disciples long ago when they were disheartened that their leader had been crucified and they returned to fishing. Are you feeling disappointed and abandoned?  He calls to you to come and dine with Him and let Him feed you with His word of comfort.He wants to supply your need.

Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine. John 21:12 It was after His resurrection and He met the weary, disappointed fishermen disciples by the Sea one morning and invited them to have breakfast by the beach with Him.

Are you famished  for spiritual food?  He calls to those who are hungry to come and dine whatever your spiritual state and position may be – He calls to you today.

Come and Dine
1. Jesus has a table spread
Where the saints of God are fed,
He invites His chosen people, “Come and dine”;
With His manna He doth feed
And supplies our every need:
Oh, ’tis sweet to sup with Jesus all the time!

Chorus:
“Come and dine,” the Master calleth, “Come and dine”;
You may feast at Jesus’ table all the time;
He Who fed the multitude, turned the water into wine,
 To the hungry calleth now, “Come and dine.”

2. The disciples came to land,
Thus obeying Christ’s command,
For the Master called unto them, “Come and dine”;
There they found their heart’s desire,
Bread and fish upon the fire;
Thus He satisfies the hungry every time.

Chorus

3. Soon the Lamb will take His bride
To be ever at His side,
All the host of heaven will assembled be;
Oh, ’twill be a glorious sight,
All the saints in spotless white;
And with Jesus they will feast eternally.

In the heavenly home there will be the marriage supper of the Lamb and He invites you there, meant only for those who are blood washed by Jesus’ blood. Be ready as the day is coming – sooner than you think! Don’t miss out!

You must watch this video in preparation.
