As I watched the ravages of hurricane Sandy on TV, I saw someone say “I had just spent $40k on the renovation to my house and now it is gone!”  O how many more of us have found out that when we chase the things of this world, they are just so fleeting ?

A beautiful well furnished dream home! gone! as you helplessly watch the firemen fight the fire.

A boyfriend  or girlfriend who just said “Let us part company”

A little doggie – the love of your life (today people love pet animals more than children) – just sick to death – after consuming something it should not have taken

Wham! blown up that special amplifier – you just acquired and was trying to use!

A  much sought after and saved for car – the talk of the neighbourhood – gone in a spitfire second when you should have known better and slowed down – now wrapped around a tree!

Keep those investment stocks – keep them for their dividend returns – all to be written off as a trusted accountant or manager ran away with the bank account!

You don’t have to be a workaholic, don’t fall into the materialistic trap!

Don’t squander your time, your life, your wealth. Make a difference in life.

Where is your treasure?

Foreign Workers and expatriates, perhaps with new jobs in hand and better takings to send home, the thrill of buying with the hard-earned money is too much for one to bear. Instead of saving for a rainy day or even sharing more with family and close relatives, there is a need to buy that and this which were never even a dream in times past.

Do not forget that even nature reminds us today that all you can earn, keep and treasure in this world are temporary – till death do us part?
