CLICK A BLESSING TODAY – Sing Your Way Home

Sing your way home
at the close of the day…
Sing your way home,
drive the shadows away.
Smile every mile
For wherever you roam
It will brighten your road,
It will lighten your load,
If you sing your way home

Above is a children’s song which reflects the innate benefits of singing. Troops burst into song to relieve stress and especially on their way home. Seniors with Alzheimers have shown much improvement when they have participated in singing activities.

Many studies have linked singing with lower heart rate, decreased blood pressure, reduced stress and helped patients who suffer trauma with psychological and physiological conditions.

Many have had the desire to break into song – in the car, in the shower, in churches, and in karaokes. Singing not only makes you feel good, it can enhance your well-being, reduce your feelings of pain and even prolongs your life.

One of the most famous Bible singers was David, the shepherd boy who sang while he was enjoying God’s creation out in the open fields while looking after his sheep. He also sang when he soothed the troubled spirit of King Saul with the accompaniment of a harp.

In Psalms 100:2 we read “Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord He is God; it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.”
Do you know Him as Lord in your life?  that He is God and in control of your life?

If you do, you can sing your way home at the end of the day or at the end of your life when you will be heaven-bound.

If you do not, while you have life today, let Him be your Lord and God. For in the presence of the Lord there is fullness joy and He will direct your path of life.

Psalm 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right there are pleasures for evermore.

Ephesians 5:19,20 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Are you thanking God for all that is happening to you? You may be on the mountain top or in the valley, but where He is, there is peace which passeth understanding.

Will you sing your way home? Can you sing your way home today?

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Sweetest Name I know
Fills my every longing
Keeps me singing as I go.

The definition of “hum” is to To sing (a tune) without opening the lips or forming words and may you have the peace that comes only for Jesus as you hum your way home.

One aspect which many Christians are not aware of is that when our attitude and relationship are right with the Lord He puts “a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall shall sit and fear, and shall trust in the Lord” Psalm 40:3. He gives us songs in the night Psalm 77:6, songs of deliverance Psalms 32:7, a song in a strange land Psalm 137:4. We can sing songs to a heavy heart Proverbs 25:20 and remember we are practicing only for “the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon upon their heads; they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah 35:10 . Praise the Lord when we lift our eyes, hearts and spirits to Him.. He takes care and is in control!

  2. 4hispraise says:

We are told “make a joyful noise” Well, I make the noise; It serves only to raise other peoples blood pressure- mine stays the same….. So I hum, inwardly.
