Be set free!
Did you wake up with a heavy heart this morning?
Did you miss the promised peace of the Lord?
Has someone done wrong to you? Was it your family member? Was it someone at work or an acquaintance at school or church or wherever He has placed you?
The Word says “O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.” Matthew12:34
Are you disappointed that someone hurt you with their words? From the verse above, it is expected.
If you have been hurt, you need to be careful lest the devil takes advantage of you. Do you imagine vain things about that incident? Are you feeling unforgiving and bitter and disappointed with that one who has wronged you? That absence of God’s peace in your heart indicates that you need to get right with God today and the good news is you can rid yourself of that heavy burden of un-forgiveness today with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Do not carry this burden through the day with you. You need not.
Stop and pray. “Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us”. Do not harbor an unforgiving spirit, because if you do, you are actually asking God not to forgive you. How can you ask God to forgive you, when you refuse to forgive others?
Your forgiveness of others does not cause God to forgive you. Rather, it is evidence that you have been forgiven by God. Those who have experienced God’s pardon find it easier to forgive those who offend them.
We are never closer to God’s grace than when we admit our sin and cry out for pardon. And we’re never more like God than when, for Jesus Christ’s sake, we extend forgiveness freely and completely to those who have sinned against us.
Let us pray now meaningfully “Dear Lord, please forgive my sin of un-forgiveness and help me forgive (insert name of person who has wronged you)_______ who has wronged me. Please lift this weight of un-forgiveness from me today. In Jesus’ Name I ask. Amen.”.
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me. But verily God hath heard me; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer .Blessed be God, which ha,th not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me. Psalms 66:18-20.
Be blessed as you forgive that one or those who have wronged you. Tell them so as soon as you can.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1
Be set free today from the weight of un-forgiveness and bitterness.
Receive His forgiveness and forgive today.
