CLICK A BLESSING TODAY – What Do You Do?

Oh, be careful little eyes, what you see.
Oh, be careful little eyes, what you see.
There’s a Father up above, looking down in tender love,
So be careful little eyes, what you see.

Be careful little ears what you hear
Be careful little mouth what you say…
Be careful little hands, what you touch…
Be careful little feet, where you go…

That was a favorite Sunday School chorus for me when I was about 4 years old many, many years ago. However, the words ring true even today. In this age of information when we are deluged with so much to see, hear and feel and have the globe to travel, we need to carefully assess and choose what we see, hear, say and do. Our mind, our character, our testimony for Christ will be so impacted by our response.

If we see the good in others rather than the ugly, the potential rather than the crack, we will appreciate and respect each other better. However, if you watch pornography furtively and play computer battle games during all the time you have, can you act like a Christian when your mind becomes the depraved and violent playground of the enemy twenty four hours a day?

The words of love, trust and obedience that bless our day in God, bring blessings to all who surround us too. However, the cuss words you hear and copy without intent, the many times you hear the name of the Lord called in vain and do so naturally repeat –what testimony do you portray to others including the little ears in your homes, with regard to your respect and honor for the Lord God Almighty and your Saviour and Redeemer?

The worship hymns and choruses that play in the background or come deep from the bottom of our hearts are true and sincere and bring freedom to fulfill God’s purpose for which we are made, bringing peace and joy this world could never afford or understand. On the other hand, the raucous music so many passionately and addictively listen to from ipods and such, while crossing the streets and even while busy at work or at home may cause you to not hear the dangers on the road or the cry of our children, yes, even the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit.

Just a glass, just a whiff, just a puff, it is so good to relieve tension during or at the end of the day as the stresses mount and pressures overwhelm. Soon without your realizing you are overtaken and cannot do without. Justification – it was just time-out and soon it develops to full addiction or unemployment. Stop! Before it is too late with results of broken minds, bodies and relationships.

Hands that reach out to others in love, to lift, to care as God’s hands extended, bless receivers and givers, and especially our Father in heaven. However, hands that lie idle when you should be doing with what is in them –still sitting and waiting for the Lord’s will to be shown, miss out on the opportunities God has presented to you and whittle down whatever self image there is left. Hands that abuse others, steal and kill become the devil’s tool and incur the wrath of law and incarceration and separate from rather than draw loved ones to you.

Fellowship with those who love the Lord in close encounters, cell groups, home groups, churches where the love of God and encouraging words flow to and fro freely, bringing us to a higher plane in God. Say “no!” to empty hearts that darken the doors of bars and places wherever you go to pick you up – these just add to your misery and despair – with displeasure and stain forevermore on your conscience.

Be careful little eyes, ears, hands and feet
There’s a Father up above, looking down in tender love.

Father, please give us discernment and courage to choose what pleases You.
