The natural forces of God have been a matter of respect and awe for all of us. We all have been aided or damaged by one or more of them at one time or another. Particularly,  in these current times when those forces bear upon millions by flood, fire, or hurricaine…….To remind us of His power, and hardly incidentally, our own folly.

More tender are the many allusions in Art, Theatre, and Writing about the nourishments of rain, life-giving of the sun, or the tumult and caressing of the winds. The Common book of Prayer offers; “Who layeth the beams of His chambers in the waters, and maketh the clouds His chariot, and walketh upon the wings of the wind”

He may well have been the “wind beneath or wings”. Or He may have buffeted us from time to time that we may lean forward into Him and be strengthened. My poem “THE WIND” suggests this;

When the blustery winds of this life have died down, and gently passed away,

Bestowing bright futures promise, that grows stronger  every day ;

I look to God the Founder, and hasten yet to say, All trials and tempests frame us, and gird us stronger still.

Out Fathers love commends us, As we surrender to His will. Each day will have its’ sunsets, to introduce the dark.

Each morn we put behind us, we live to claim His heart .

May the wind, though strong, be favorable all your days.

About 4hispraise

I am quite simply a child of our Lord God. What good that I have done or may do, I pray will reflect solely on the presence of The Holy Spirit who speaks for me in all things.

    How true 4hispraise.. for surely “Each morn we put behind us, we live to claim His heart ” and it drives us daily to persevere despite the winds of life that buffet us.. ..and through it all we know He holds us firmly in His hand and guides us through the storms as we bring glory to His Name. Praise the Lord and praise Him for your encouragement in verse.
