Father, Son, and Who? Living inside me? That was a question early in my walk – even as I viewed myself as a Christian.

Why is it that we, as believers, can accept the supernatural as spoken in every part of the bible: Acts like miracles of power and healing wrought by God and by Jesus: Things that stretch our imagination. Yet, to conceive of a Third Deity who takes up residence in us as promised in John 14, “He shall give you another comforter, that He may abide with you forever”. The Holy Spirit, day in- day out who helps us find and direct our purpose in life is a bit of a stretch.

Everything up to this point from creation to the birth and death of Christ happens outside of ourselves and is done FOR us. Perhaps compared to watching a movie. Things are believable because we can see origination and completion, with a full cast of characters. Some of us will remember stories of “The Invisible Man‘. Most entertaining, but we left the idea at the movie house. We believe in miracles that happen to others, but it may be a leap to accept those happenings in us until….THEY DO!

We are assured that we cannot live the Christian life in our own strength, or our own goodness, We cannot determine our own destiny or purpose. What we can do then is visualize this forever guest who lives and breathes our very future into eternity?

Some say that it is mainly through our gifts that were installed in us for serving the purpose of our creator: The Spirits voice that shows us how to use them.

In my own experience, I would say that it might never have been made clear if I relied solely on miracles, or voices, or inspirations or rebukes. It was only based upon circumstances.
When I became less adult and more child, there became a series of “happenings” for which I had no explanation. The more I treated them less as “happy accidents”, the more frequently they would occur. The more I believed in the invisible.

Curiosities like “Is it me, or is it God?’ began to trouble me. George McDonald says, “It is simply absurd to say you believe, or even want to believe, if you do not do anything He tells you”. He says “go there” Now I do, and the Spirit is already there. He says “stop’ and I defer. He says,”rest at ease”, and I wait until He is ready.

I have absoslutely no idea how this works. I don’t understand the process…… but we are also reminded that we don’t have to understand electricity to use it.

We simply have to switch it on… and there be light. No black, wire, no red wire, no green. I’m simply empowered- up!

About 4hispraise

I am quite simply a child of our Lord God. What good that I have done or may do, I pray will reflect solely on the presence of The Holy Spirit who speaks for me in all things.

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever. Even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: by ye know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. John 14:16,17
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:26,27

Praise the Lord for his precious Holy Spirit who lives in us to lead us and walks with us in the ways of God.
