This continues the series on don’t just talk, walk the talk.
It is more blessed to give than to receive. Acts 20:35
He that giveth, let him give with simplicity. Romans 12:8
So then neither he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God gives the increase. 1 Corinthians 3:8
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:7-8
Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him for it is his portion. Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. Ecclesiastes 5:18-19
Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for you have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me not herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:8-10
Don’t give if you don’t want to give. Don’t give if you are unwilling to give.
The Word says that we should be cheerful givers.
When the offering plate is handed out.. have you seen some furtive glances?
Who’s giving? Who’s not giving? It is none of our business what others do, but it our business to give.
Have you seen people just turn away when money talks are given?
Don’t have to listen and save a few pennies… and lose a blessing if you disobey the Lord to give when He prompts.
Do we keep back His money from Him with a guilty conscience? All in our possession are what He has given to us.
To each it is his/her own to receive and then to give.
To withhold giving is an accountability to the Lord.
Give as He has commanded and leads you to.
It’s not just money we are talking about – your time, your talents, your strength, your enthusiasm, your loyalty, yes all of YOU.
He can take all you think you own at anytime if He wants to.
He wants to bless us for giving, not curse us for robbing Him.
