Oh, how often I’ve heard this said in some form or another lately. Let’s look at some examples:
Taxes must be filed in 3 months…
I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!
School re-starts next week…
I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!
A wife tells her husband that he is not communicating, he’s not sensitive to her feelings…
I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!
A teenager tells his parents that he can take responsibility..
I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!
There are drugs in our kid’s school…
I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!
A 4-year-old reads the cover of Cosmo at the check out and asks her grandpa “What’s an orga… face?”
I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!
Jesus tells us that if we have ever lusted in our hearts, we have committed adultery…
I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!
Most Muslims are really good people…
I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!
Jesus tells us we must put Him before our worldly possessions and even concerns…
I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!
A woman whose brother was murdered skips a sermon she knows will be on forgiveness…
I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!
All of you have said this at one time or another when faced with difficult things…
Wait a minute… so have I!!!! Far too often than I care to admit.
We find temporary comfort in wrapping ourselves in our little cocoons, shutting out the things we don’t want to hear or face.
Yet I’ve found not one single instance where this has changed things, made what I did not want to hear or acknowledge go away.
Reality is reality, truth is truth.
Maybe “I Just Don’t Wanna Hear It!” But I must…
Shalom,
