“For there is not a just man upon earth that doeth good and sinneth not”, Ecclesiastes 7:20;
“The sincere soul falls as a traveller may do, by stumbling at some stone in his path; but gets up, and goes on his way with more care and speed. This is rather to be understood of falls into affliction, than falls into actual sin.” – author unknown..
For a just [man] falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. Proverbs 24:16
Why does the righteous man arise whereas the wicked man keeps going downhill?
The righteous man always admits, confesses, repents and is forgiven and gets up right back with the help of the Lord. The righteous – he bobs, bobs, bobs. . The wicked however, goes down, down, down till he is down and out and sinks to the bottom of the cess pool.
And each time the righteous man bobs up, he has learnt another lesson in living.
Wiser and having grown in faith in One who does not change. Is it not more to be desired when compared to someone who spirals down into the cess pool of life?
The righteous man has hope in the Lord that keeps him going, whereas the wicked do not. Hope, that finally means standing on heaven’s shore with all difficulties, challenges and disease behind him.
Praise God he is a winner! He recovers!
