One Nation Under God: Retaining Our Heritage

My Friends and Companions:

In this series, One Nation Under God, I have presented snippets of American history pertaining to the role of our Christian beliefs in the founding of this great country. As we are all aware, there are forces trying to erase God from our history and remove Christianity from our society.

There are many parallels to what is now happening to the USA and what happened again and again in ancient Israel. Our 1st Amendment guarantees the Freedom OF Religion, not freedom from religion.

Prayer is vitally important, but there is much more that we can do.

KNOW our history and the role that God has played in the founding of this country.

KNOW the Constitution and Bill of Rights and our other founding documents. (Do you have a copy of these essential founding documents?)

Be active in schools, make sure that history is being taught as it happened, not the revisionist history we have today.

Support and participate in patriotic celebrations.

Vote for officials who recognize that we were founded as One Nation Under God and who will strive to keep that in our governance.

Have classes at church that teach our history. (There is a DVD series titled The American Heritage Series that could serve as an excellent resource for such a study.

We can’t be passive.

  1. Great word! We’re right with you. Actually, we just launched a charitable organization a few weeks ago to help raise awareness of our rich Christian heritage in America. Our site is Check us out and give any comments or suggestions you come up with. We’re new at this, but we want to make a difference for America and its citizens.

Amen. We must not be passive for God and good. To remain passive is to be swept away with the tide of popularity and popular beliefs which will take us away from God and good, like the raging floods that bring destruction to all in their way.
