Dim Sum – Business Travel – Temptations

Temptation Sore

Lonely days and lonely nights – one of the characteristics of business travel.
What do you do alone in the hotel room?
The TV’s boring , the internet is more fun.
Hmm there is that one who is the enemy of our souls like a roaring lion about, seeking whom he may devour.
Just an advertisement .. so enticing… just one peek… then two .. then he laughs…
It is just the beginning… for it will continue night after night.

Then one night… he said he was sleeping and found himself transfixed between two women on his bed. They were laughing and taunting, enticing him. He froze.. and finally “JESUS, JESUS help me” was all he could say and call out.

Next day he sent me an email.. confused, guilty, filled with fear, how could a dream become reality?. Was it spiritual warfare? Pray for him was his plea.
As long as he remained at that location he felt oppressed for the lust of the flesh occupied his mind and spirit and emotions and would not release its hold. Please pray he sent me another email, for I had led him to the Lord and had done some follow-up with him like a mentor. He was recently divorced and unstable emotionally, spiritually and physically.

I sent him a return email immediately upon receipt of the first email,
-prayed with him
– told him to repent of his sin
– asked the Lord for forgiveness for yielding to temptation and filling/feeding his mind with unholy ideas and imaginations,
– asked the Lord to intervene
– deliver him from evil, and keep him safe.

His response was immediate too with faith so small as a mustard seed, yes he agreed to my suggestion and knelt down to pray to resist the devil as he was taught and to plead for the blood of Jesus to cover him from evil and temptation. We continued to ask for the Presence of the Lord to be real in his room to drive away all evil and protection. It took two weeks and a move to another business location before he was finally delivered from the bondage of the lust of the flesh as memories persisted.

Today he stands as a testimony of the Lord’s saving and delivering power, always ensuring that he is covered by the Blood of Jesus for his protection from evil and from the snares of the evil one. Thanking God that he received a warning so that he was pre-empted from falling hopelessly lost in yielding to temptation and the bondage of sin. Always he is now aware how so insidiously the enemy works and he needs to depend on the Lord’s grace and mercy, and His joy to be his strength to resist temptations in his hotel room on lonely business travel nights.

Are you facing temptations sore? Are you giving in to temptations and making the enemy laugh with glee?

Take the necessary steps to stop the bondage of sin, turn around, repent and seek the Lord for forgiveness and deliverance. He wants to intervene but it is your choice to ask Him to. Plead the blood of Jesus to cleanse you of your sins and to cover you from evil. Resist the devil in the Name of the Lord and with the power of the Holy Spirit yield not to temptation. Turn the page and watch a U Tube song of dedication, or worship. When the Lord’s Presence is in that room with you, the enemy has to leave. Be wise. Choose the Lord and save yourself from bondage of the lust of the flesh.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7.

I hear thy welcome voice
that calls me, Lord, to thee,
for cleansing in thy precious blood
that flowed on Calvary.

Refrain:
I am coming Lord!
Coming now to thee!
Wash me, cleanse me in the blood
that flowed on Calvary!

Though coming weak and vile,
thou dost my strength assure;
thou dost my vileness fully cleanse,
till spotless all, and pure.

‘Tis Jesus calls me on
to perfect faith and love,
to perfect hope and peace and trust,
for earth and heav’n above.

‘Tis Jesus who confirms
the blessed work within,
by adding grace to welcomed grace,

And he the witness gives
to loyal hearts and free
that every promise is fulfilled,
if faith but brings the plea

All hail! atoning blood!
All hail! redeeming grace!
All hail! the gift of Christ our Lord,
our Strength and Righteousness.

Refrain:
I am coming Lord!
Coming now to thee!
Wash me, cleanse me in the blood
that flowed on Calvary!

P.S. Any reader of this blog who has spouse or family on business travel would do well to always cover your loved one in prayer. Prayer changes things. Prayer can save your loved one from the clutches of the enemy in his/her hour of temptation.
