Dim Sum – Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven

It is election day in Singapore today, 7 May 2011.
May the best candidate in the constituency win.

Thank You Lord that by the end of today, Your approved candidates will win to run the next government for the next five years.

May those who lose and still are your chosen ones for the future, not be disheartened to strive to win in the next election. Help them prepare and do Your will in each of their lives. May those who are Your children be drawn closer to you in the hour of defeat.

May those who have won, not have big heads that cause pride and retaliation to set in. May they remain humble to serve the people. Give them hearts of compassion and help them remain faithful to their responsibilities. Give courage to do what is best for the people, and help when difficult decisions are needed. Lord keep those in authority honest and humble and hardworking to fulfil their responsiblities which their high salary demands. Give co-operation, patience, integrity and confidence for decision-making and courage to stay the right course even when things get rough and tough. Help them speak up on behalf of the people and bless doubly. each one who has his/her hand in Yours. Thank You Lord you are in control through the government in Singapore. In Jesus name, amen.

  1. ptl2010 says:

It took us less than 5 minutes to stand in queue to vote though there were several hundreds others as my dad was in a wheelchair (wheelchair and pusher supplied by our efficient government from car door to voting booth and back! – amazing) and for all those 65 years and over in the express lane – that is how much the government has provided for the senior citizens even to the point of voting! Yes it was the fast lane for voting whichever party we wanted to vote after a cooling-off day and prior frenzied few days in the hustings.

The decision is being made and cast – indeed may the Lord’s will be done in Singapore as so many from afar (even Singaporeans in the USA, China, Australia, Europe) have been refreshingly drawn to vote as never before by the sheer promise of change in the tenacious grip of the ruling party and driven by the Opposition’s moves and upgrades . Yes political history is being made on our tiny island of 2.2 million voters in a population of nearly 5 million.

May the God-fearing and God-loving be voted into power in greater numbers to influence and impact our and the region’s future.

Thy will be done on red dot Singapore today and in the days ahead – so is the plea of Your people in Singapore dear Lord. Amen.
