One of the greatest commandments made by Jesus

Why was preaching the Gospel such a great commandment of Christ? The reason is, “The Gospel message ministers Salvation to the human soul”. The Gospel message is the power of God unto Salvation…Romans 1:16. Christ said, “Lo, I shall be with you always.” The reason Christ commanded the Gospel to be preached in all the world was to reach humanity (Jew and Gentile) with the Grace of God.

Christ commanded the Gospel to be preached so that fallen man could hear, repent, and receive the remission of sins though the person of Christ that is manifested in good Gospel preaching. The Holy Spirit can minister to hearts and souls through the Gospel message. The Holy Spirit baptizes believer’s into Christ when they “hear” the truth about a Saviour. The Bible says, “By one Spirit are we all baptized into one body”…1 Cor:12:13.

Another reason Christ commanded the Gospel to be preached was to get people into Christ. The Spirit of God takes people out of a sinful world and puts them into (baptizes them) into Christ. He that believeth and is baptized is saved. No water here as the Spirit takes man out of darkness and puts him into the body of Christ, the Church.

This great command (to preach the Gospel) made by Christ in the four Gospels came after His death, burial, and resurrection. Christ knew the importance of the ministry of the Spirit that was found in the Grace covenant that flowed from Calvary. Christ knew that Grace and Apostleship would come through the Gospel message. Christ knew the work of the Holy Spirit would minister to hearts and lives through the hearing of the Gospel.

The same Spirit of holiness that raised Christ from the dead is the same Spirit of holiness that flows though the Gospel message Christ commanded us to preach today.

It is important to preach the Gospel to a lost world. This is why Christ gave the command to preach it! Christ left Earth to be seated on His Throne in Heaven. In the Throneroom Christ has all power and authority. The Gospel message we preach allows others to unite with Christ through forgiveness and remission that found in a Saviour’s love for fallen man.

That’s just a small glimpse of why Christ wants us to preach the Gospel…around the Globe.

The L ord calls, commissions, commands and co-labours with us in the mission-field. That encourages, empowers and ensures success and if we have the right perspectives will never be discouraged -we give our best, He does the rest. Amen.
