Dim Sum – Don’t rob yourself of God’s blessings

It is so easy to testify of what we have done. Some call it bragging others say it is blowing your trumpet. Whatever it is called it is giving credit to I, me, myself.

Often times we trip up when we steal the glory from God when our tongues have been tied and we could not give glory to God for a myriad of reasons. Afraid of what man may say, or ask for proof, afraid that it is only partially true and not defensible.. e.g. a healing from cancer or He has seen you through a major operation. Or perhaps it was too small an incident to talk about. Maybe accumulating my prayer answers will be better and worth listening to. My friend it will never be.. don’t let the devil continue to bind your tongue.. it is your choice to continue to be dumb in the spirit or to be free and at liberty to praise Him .

If the Lord has done something for you like answering your prayers and you have not given Him glory as a testimony, you have robbed yourself of the full benefit of that answer.

Firstly, the Lord will not share His glory with another. If you have not been fully blessed that could be one reason. You have stolen His glory for yourself.

Secondly, you have deprived someone else of an encouragement for their need. Your testimony could have sparked faith, strengthened faith and renewed hope to someone. So they did not hear you were blessed. Now blessings don’t come singly just as rain. It pours and could you have deprived yourself of God’s outpouring of blessings.

Thirdly, you have deprived yourself of the affirmation that God has answered your prayers. You have hidden it under a bushel and the enemy loves that because as long as it is hidden, you really are not sure of what has transpired. Was it co-incidental, was it just good luck? Oh things just happened not according to God’s plan but because you were there at the right time and right place for the good thing to happen. So you have denied that God is all powerful and in control and you have received but forgotten just like the nine lepers who were healed because you went on your merry way, hoping nothing so terrible or bad will happen again. Well when you have just taken God’s blessing for granted, you have not been strengthened in the inner man. You have not reached a higher plane with Him. You have just gone on as before a doubter of His goodness. You really have not been blessed thoroughly as you have not known the fullness of His grace and mercy. As you continue thus in half measure, your experience will be the same. It will not be a life of victory for when you have victory, you will let the whole world know.

Yes, not testifying robs yourself of God’s wonderful fullness in your life.

Want it? Then open your mouth to sing, to praise, to thank Him,to shout it from the mountain-tops, to share of His mighty works in your life. You must in order to grow. Your testimonies are to pave the way for someone else to be blessed and to know the love of God. It is to pave the way for God’s next miracle in your life. Do not keep it to yourself for you know if you are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of you before His Father in heaven and you know what that means.

Never heard of it? Then go look it up for yourself.. search the Scriptures. Sometimes we take too much for granted… we need to dig deep into the Word of God and experience for ourselves the goodness of God. We cannot live on second hand experience of others of God’s goodness. We need to know it for ourselves.

Luke 19:40 ″I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.

Get the blessings of praise and thanksgiving for yourself if God has been good to you. Tell the whole world. That is your duty to God.

Psalm 66:3-5

3 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power
that your enemies cringe before you.

4 All the earth bows down to you;
they sing praise to you,
they sing praise to your name.”
Selah

5 Come and see what God has done,
how awesome his works in man’s behalf!

I exhort you to testify for Jesus – it is to His praise alone. Amen.

The windows of heaven are open,
The blessings are flowing tonight
There’s joy, joy, joy in my heart
Since Jesus made everything right
I gave Him my old tattered garments
He gave me a robe of pure white
I’m feasting on manna from heaven
And that’s why I’m happy tonight.

1) Why are you lying face down in the dust
Your accusers have all run away
And I don’t condemn you, you’re free to be clean
Get up and start a new day

2)Son, the path you have chosen has taken you far
Now you’re homeless and sick and afraid
But there’s a party and music to welcome you home
And all the expense has been paid .

Friend, where are you on God’s blessings? have you deprived yourself the full benefit of His blessings? Change your mode of thanksgiving then. Testify. Don’t wait for someone else to do it first.

P.S. The picture above shows Position in which a Jewish kohen ( a Jewish priest descended from Aaron) places his hands and fingers during the Priestly Blessing.
