What would you have to do to accomplish for God? Look what this lady Catherine Destivelle soloing in Mali did to accomplish her personal goal.
Determined, focussed on her goal, disciplined to push her body to the limit with much exercise and sacrifice to the cause, courage, belief in self and independence and putting down negative thoughts of disability and laying aside all the distractions and things which would hinder her climb.
Do we have what it takes to accomplish for God?
Scripture says :
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.
Have you weights that are attached to you, your lifestyle, spirit, mind and body that will weigh you down and prevent a good take-off and hold you back in the face of competition and opposition and the race? These weights would stick to you unless you decide to cast them aside.
Have you sins which beset you? distracting, stumbling and leading you from your course? Would you resist temptations sore and decide to do the right? Would you choose to not get distracted?
The former are what are peculiar to you and the latter what everyone faces that would hinder/stumble you from your accomplishing for Jesus.
(1) Don’t look back. You must learn from the past and leave it behind.
(2) Don’t be anxious about the next lap, focus only on the next step for if you fall you may not get up again.
(3) Make every lap count:Let us lay aside every weight, and sin and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.’ Many of us carry the weight of stress or spend too much energy trying to impress people or one person and desperately wondering if they like you. Do you spend all day running around to ‘keep them happy’? Learn to drop such worries. There are enough painful trials in life-why carry the ones you can lay aside?
Let us accomplish much for Jesus out of love and appreciation for what He has done and accomplished for us.We can’t accomplish in our own strength. Only His. Let His joy be our strength.
How are you doing?
