Thanksgiving Everyday

It is that time of year again.  A time to reflect and look deep within ourselves.  To be honest with God and ourselves about what and who we are thankful for, and to give glory where glory is due.  But wait!  Isn’t this a lifestyle that we practice daily as Christians?  Yes.  But, we can give thanksgiving for the same exact reason the pilgrims gave thanksgiving.  Because we are free to worship and praise Him.  Free to pray as individuals and seek Him on a personal level.  Free to come boldly to the throne of grace and ask what we will and expect to receive if it is within His Own Will.  There are individuals all over this planet who are not free to pray to Him.  They are not free to praise or worship Him openly.  They are not free to seek His Will within the confines of His Word.  Can you imagine?  Wow, not having the freedom to pick up your Bible and carry it with you whenever you feel the need?  Can you imagine?  Not being allowed the luxury of praying with a friend in public?  Can you imagine?  Not being allowed to turn up the music in your car and praise Him and worship Him because the Holy Spirit has moved you?  Can you imagine?  Hiding the fact that you are a Christian?  Can you imagine?  Not being able to even mention the name Jesus?  Thank You Lord, because I am able to thank You, openly.  Thank You Lord because I am able to boast in You, openly.  Psalm 107:1 “Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.”
