How do non-Christians get rid of their troubles and burdens? Some smoke cigarettes or marijuana, some gamble, some drink alcohol to foget about their sorrows.
However, like the proverbial camel who hides its head in the sand when there is a sandstorm, do we do the same by pretending our troubles are no more just because we are not looking at them?
What is the best way to address your problems? The answer for Christians is give them all to Jesus Christ as the Bible says “cast all your cares on Him for He careth for you. ” Yet, many would take their burdens back after casting their cares on Him.
“Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof” and we never learn. That is when the trouble starts, for everyday more that you carry the burdens of yesterday, there will be a pile up with the burdens of today and tomorrow, and unless you give them up to Jesus, they will upset you, unsettle you, unbalance you and you will crash under their weight sometime. Do you suffer from physical symptoms like migraine, headaches, backaches, nervous tension in the stomach, allergies, etc, which prove you are a hoarder of worries?
Sometimes I wonder if Christians have been so used to carrying the weight of the worries i.e worry becomes a habit, that they will feel “funny” if they surrendered all to Jesus. So they keep or “reserve” some for themselves to “feel good” and disobey the Word to their detriment.
The Lord has provided you with the answer to life’s problems… cast your cares upon Him for He cares for you.. yes, after you have cast your cares upon Him wait for His instructions for His burden is light… and He will walk beside you and help you carry that burden that is weighing you down.
Cast your cares upon Him, you were never meant to bear them alone. He wants to renew your mind. You cannot do it by yourself. He wants to help you. Will you let Him?
Leave your cares with Him.
The Lord our Burden-bearer!Aren’t we privileged?
Amen, friend! His burden is light. We should be like Mary, and choose the best thing. Encouraging words.
Yes!! we do need to give all to Jesus and then not take things back. I am for sure guilty of this one.
Thanks for a great post.
