Recently, while checking out a customer, I was in my normal, jovial mood. The customer was laughing and smiling as I processed her order. There was absolutely nothing even close in what we talked about regarding my faith, God or anything “religious”. I should note that I did not recognize this customer as a regular of mine, although she may possibly have been.
As the customer was leaving, she said to my co-worker “I want some of what he’s drinking.” The co-worker replied “Oh, he’s always like that.”
Then the customer turned back to me and said with a knowing smile “But I know what he’s drinking.”
My response: “And the best thing is that it’s free. We just have to drink what’s offered.”
Her smile brightened and she said “Isn’t He just great!” And she turned and left.
My co-worker asked “How do you do that? How do people know?” He is very aware of my faith.
My response: “I don’t. The Spirit does. I’m just the messenger, not the message.”
This young man is searching. I’ve been slowly introducing him to Jesus. This was a perfect opportunity to tell him the parable of the woman at the well and the Living Water. He’s since come back with more questions.
Life is just so darned good when walking in the shadow of Jesus!

Wonderful, Art. Let us provoke one another to live for Jesus, by true life stories such as your blog.
Let us keep strong consistently in word and deed, and the world will see Christ lives in us and learn to love Him too.,
Those who have no faith need to see first. We need to behold Him first and the world will see Him through us.
” Amen I want some of what he is drinking.”
Hallelujah for the movement of the Holy Spirit amongst us. I am frequently labeled a “high intuitive”. I know that it is the Holy Spirit whispering to me, not some special synaptic trick in my brain!
Your story also brings to mind:
John 12:32
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
Amen, I’ve always said that if people don’t see Jesus in us, they’ll never know Him….we are the proof that Jesus is alive and real!
