When I think of what it takes to get through life I think of a life founded in Christ Jesus. When I think about a life founded in Christ Jesus I think about a life built with the Word of God.
Many people ask me (as a minister) where to go in the Bible. I tell them the New Testament, after the death of Christ. Reason? We are there, Now. We are a New Testament body of believers. Our foundation is the person, the power, and presence of Christ Jesus, who died and rose from the grave. Our life is built upon the power of New Testament Truth. The New Testament of the Bible “confirms” the life we have in Christ Jesus…in a present evil world.
The Old Testament has its place. The four Gospels have their place. The New Testament Epistles show us and prove to us who Christ is and what He’s doing today…in the Church, God’s Spiritual body of Christians. All of God’s Word is to be rightly divided and not mixed up. All of God’s Word is to be put into proper perspective and not run together. All of God’s Word builds our faith on the foundation we have in Christ Jesus…through the Spirit of Truth.
A good foundation endures the storms of life. A good foundation hold’s up under pressure. A good foundation is deeply rooted and grounded in the Word of Truth. A good foundation is firmly laid by Christ to last the child of God, for a lifetime.
