Faith Child – Learn this lesson well

Luciffer versus The Lord (Madach) Slovenčina: ...

The Lord says I am the LORD, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another, Nor My praise to carved images.–Isaiah 42:8

In Ezekiel 28:12 -18 (KJV)we read of the beginning and end of Lucifer because of pride:

“Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.” 13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.” This is not an earthly king, as the word “cherub” is only used in references to angels.

15 “Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Was Lucifer’s job to protect the very earth he corrupted? Was this one of his duties that gave him so much pride?

17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.  18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

 Isaiah 14:12
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:”
Satan wanted to be God. The Bible tells us in 2nd Corinthians 4:4 that Satan has become the “god of this world”. And Revelation 20:10 tells us that he will be eternally punished for it.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
When Lucifer was cast out of Heaven, one third of all the angels were cast out with him. (Rev.12:4,9)
Lucifer became Satan, and the fallen angels became Demons.
God detests pride. He even hates a proud look (Prov. 6:16-17). God’s loathing of pride is unalterable, for “Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD” (Prov. 16:5)
Humility is the foundation of all virtue, but pride is the essence of all sin. The world system operates on the basis of pride for all that is in the world is lust and pride (1 John 2:16). From pride and lust  spring all other sins. Pride is the mother of evil.
“Man is never more like the Devil than when he is full of self-will.” The Bible strictly forbids placing a novice in leadership, “lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil” (1 Tim. 3:6).

It was pride that caused Lucifer’s fall and subsequent condemnation. The snare of pride is a deadly peril to which new converts should never be willfully subjected.

Nothing does more to get a person out of the devil’s reach than humility. (2 Chron. 7:14). God required the people who were called by His name to humble themselves before they prayed or repented. So why does humility precede prayer? Why does humility come before turning from wicked ways? The reason humility precedes prayer is because there can be no real prayer without humility.

Proverbs speaks of the man who brazenly turns his ear from the law, “Even his prayer shall be abomination” (28:9).

Prayerlessness is the very first sign of pride. It has been said, “God’s power will never fall until we do.” Proud people don’t pray. In fact, the only people who pray are those who need God, know they need God, and can’t go on without God. Humility is the altar on which God wishes us to offer Him sacrifices.

Pride is satanic, causes prayerlessness, causes conflict and gossip, is deceptive and makes an empty boast, brings shame and comes before a fall.  Pride is a sin to be hated, a sin to be confessed, a sin to mourn over, a sin to flee, and a sin to fight against.  Some people are proud because they are Christians – this can be a snare which if not careful may cause the downfall of the Christian.

We must give God all the glory in our lives for  to Him we owe everything.. even our breath. It is because of pride that men will not accept the Lord Jesus into their lives – they think they do not need forgiveness of sins,  many “successful people”  believe they are self-made people and accomplished through their own effort. How the enemy of their souls has blinded them.. with self-pride which is really self idolatry. When filled with pride man looks only to himself and not  to God –  that is the greatest hindrance to God and the most likely reason for his fall.
Faith children, let us learn well this lesson and never become proud. Let us follow humility that we may please the Lord.
O Lord please help us not to be proud but remain humble,  for we are nothing and You have made us something  only in Jesus. Thank You Lord. Amen.

There was a very popular movie a few years ago that included the role of Satan himself (in disguise, of course!). The movie highlighted these lines from the one playing the role of Satan:
“My favorite sin of you people is the sin of vanity.” I wondered at the time if this was not because this very sin of vanity in his own beauty and leaderships position amongst the “lower angels” is what led to his own downfall, his being abolished from Heaven. False humility is just another form of vanity; true humility is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
