I was spending time with my young niece. In the car, en-route to our destination, we were listening to a CD and the “antique” songs were
1.What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus
O precious is the flow that makes me white as snow
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Comment from my niece:
Can you see the picture ? Is it like a waterfall flowing down and water washing away our sins? But it is not water it is the blood of Jesus. How can our sins be washed away by Jesus’ red blood?
2. Heavenly Father, I appreciate You,
Heavenly Father I appreciate You
We love You, adore You, we bow down before You
Heavenly Father, I appreciate You.
Comment from my niece :
Who is the Father? If Jesus is the Son of God, is it Joseph who is the Father? If Jesus is also God. Is Mary also God?
3. When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder
When the roll is called up yonder,
When the roll is called up yonder ,
I’ll be there.
Comment from my niece:
What is the roll? Is my name there? Can God use an eraser to erase my name when I am naughty?
The episode reminded me
– it is dangerous for us to remain spiritual kids although we may enter the kingdom by simple child-like faith. We need to go beyond just applying words to our beliefs. 2 Tiimothy 2:15
– we need to be constantly curious and ask the questions to find the answers to have a living faith in this wicked world I Peter 3:15
– the old truths are still applicable today because His Words are settled in heaven. Matthew 4:4 Psalm 119:89-112
If you missed spending time with the Lord in His Word this morning, note this:
In Luke 18 Jesus said “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God.” When asked by a certain ruler what he should do to have eternal life, Jesus said that it was not enough to know the Ten Commandments. Obedience was required. He had to sell all he had and distribute to the poor, signifying choosing God above his riches. What the rich young ruler was sad about was that Jesus said it would be impossible for him to enter the kingdom of God because of his riches.
The bystanders recognized this is what he meant, because they said, “Who then can be saved?” (Luke 18:26). And Jesus replied, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God” (Luke 18:27).
Have you experienced that truth? To know that things which are impossible in our adult minds are possible with God? Do you want that blessing? Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and you shall find, knock, and it shall be opened unto you, for everyone that asks receives, and he that seeks finds, and to him that knocks it shall be open. Matthew 7.7.
Want to know the Truth? Want a blessing? Ask, seek, knock – it is the Lord’s way.
