Faith Child – He remains

  • My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever. Psalm 73:26

I was ministering to my cousin brother who lay on his death bed, gasping for breath, struggling with the cancer that had ravaged his body which internally bled, sadly knowing the end was near and he had to bid goodbye to his family and loved ones. He was seemingly semi-conscious as sometimes he could respond with a slightly tighter grasp of the hand, although his eyes were closed and he could not speak.

Reading Psalm 23, Psalm 18, Psalm 91  John 14 with a clear loud voice,
Singing beloved hymns like What a Friend we have in Jesus, He leadeth me,  Wonderful peace…. and Peace be still and more
And praying in the Holy Spirit most in English but sometimes in the Spirit’s  language, it was ministry spirit to spirit… I could see when finally he no longer struggled and the peace and comfort of the Lord took over and his breathing became measured.

That was three days ago. Today he passed away peacefully and went to his eternal reward.  His family are grieved, they know he no longer suffers pain after two years of suffering.

In the end, although he made tons of money as a remisier, he could not take anything with him – what remained was only the Lord’s Presence and peace for all eternity. How wonderful to know that He was with my cousin to the end of his life here on earth when he was church drummer and keyboardist… I am sure my cousin heard the choir of angels singing when he entered glory land.

Faith Child,  we need not fear death “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21.

I have witnessed many  Christians are so afraid of death that they hide away so as not to be exposed to dangers or any risk. If they have committed themselves wholly to the Lord, there will be no difference for Faith Children whether they live or die for He will carry them, throw all the dangers aside.  They are His forever, never faltering, but in confidence just  following His leading even through death to their eternal reward.

One of my favorite hymns is He leadeth me  by Bradbury and Joseph Gilmore

Is He your Lord today? You need not fear death or the loss of everything this earth can afford. As people come and go in our lives even here at ChristianBlessings,  in the end, it is only the Lord who remains with you.

Will He be with you to the end?

Do you belong to Him?

If not, you can have this assurance
– Jesus Christ is your assurance
– accept and hope in Him today.

Wonderful words and tunes of “He Leadeth Me” are flowing through me right now. Bless you! Thank you so much for reminding me how my own beloved mother breathed her last on this earth in a state of full spiritual peace, rejoicing in Our Lord!

  2. I know the Lord is comforting you in your personal loss, and it is a loss even though you know it is not final, but a reunion will be enjoyed before very long.

I have been at a few ‘deathbeds’ and three of them will remain firmly in my mind. Two were believers and it was a joyful experience even though accompanied with grief.

The other one was my third “father” who severely abused me in many ways for more than a decade. He ridiculed my Christian belief but on his deathbed he reached out for help he could not accept. I’ll never forget the absolute terror which distorted his face as he passed from this life into the next. (That memory gives me an urgency about reaching others with the Gospel)

Thanks writinggomer. No better comfort than the hope that we shall meet again and there is now no more tears and pain for my cousin. Praise the Lord.

May God bless you for your parting gifts to your cousin, for a gift is what you gave him. May He bless you and comfort you in your loss.
