This was the tallest structure between New York and Chicago in 1890 and it was built ENTIRELY from UNCLAIMED FUNDS.

Much of the money used had been deposited by people who had died and much by people who could not be traced. The directors of the bank, after trying to contact depositors and waiting several years for people to claim what was rightfully theirs, used the money to erect the new building.

The Society for Savings was founded as a mutual savings bank by Samuel Mather in Cleveland Ohio in 1849.
It was a small bank but it grew and a 3 storey building was erected. Continued growth resulted in Cleveland’s first skyscraper, the red brick, 10 storey Society for Savings structure, featuring two massive murals depicting the story of “the goose that laid the golden egg”

So, a beautiful building was the result of UNCLAIMED FUNDS.

It is estimated that one in three Australians have unclaimed funds from forgotten bank accounts, superannuatyion funds etc.  No doubt the figures are similar in UK, USA and other countries.

Christians, what unclaimed funds are waiting for you?
The unclaimed promises of God are more than sufficient
to build spiritual edifices.
Whatever we need today, there is a promise in the Word of God
that we, His children, can claim.
Is there a promise we have failed to claim?

ALL the promises of God are OURS!
ALL the promises of God are AVAILABLE to the child of God.
ALL the promises of God are GUARANTEED.
The greatness of the Promiser enhances the greatness of the promises.

What was the FIRST promise of God you claimed
AFTER you became a Christian?

Mine was Luke 21:15  “I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist”

I was but a few days old in the Lord.  Since I had been accepted to become a nun before I became a Christian, two priests were waiting for me each afternoon after work, to challenge me about my ‘heresy’ and I was unable to answer them.

My new pastor asked if I really believed God and showed me this promise in the Word. He suggested I claim that promise, and spend my lunchtimes reading His Word, asking Him to direct me where to read. I agreed. Each afternoon, the priests asked about the very thing I had read and I was able to turn to the Scripture and ask them to explain why it differed from what they were saying.

God’s promise was true!
They had no answer to the truth of the Word of God.

This was such a blessing to me and a proof of His power that has never failed. I have reclaimed this promise many times and God has NEVER failed to honour it – or any of His promises. God CANNOT lie and God CANNOT break His word.

Would you like to share the FIRST promise of God you claimed AFTER you became a Christian – or any promise since becoming a Christian which is special to you?

About meetingintheclouds

I am Cloudwatcher, a 76 year old Christian lady, happily married to a wonderful man for over 50 years. We have five wonderful sons, all with at least one University degree and in top positions in their chosen fields. One son is still single but four have found perfect wives and they have given us five lovely grandchildren. I was born in England and while I'm proud of my English heritage, I am doubly proud to be a true-blue, fair-dinkum Aussie. My husband and I are committed Christians whose first priority is to love and serve our risen Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. My life story will tell of my journey from abuse to peace. I suffered 22 years of abuse, being constantly told I was totally evil and an ugly freak: no one would ever want me, so I might as well do the world a favour and kill myself.

Because I grew up in the midst of much legalism, Romans 8:1 became my go-to early on in my walk with Jesus. When I truly grasped the exhaustive work of Christ on the cross and realized I was free, a whole new life opened for me. Know what’s most exciting? When I truly experienced His grace, I discovered an empowerment to be an over-comer of those things that once plagued my life. However, I still need to hear those beautiful words of “No Condemnation” daily! Jesus is truly amazing!

    • Thanks for sharing that testimony.
Romans 8:1 also had great significance for me when I became a Christian. As a Roman Catholic (about to become a nun) I ‘knew’ that my sins, although absolved here, still carried condemnation and had to be paid for by years spent in purgatory. What an enormous blessing to know they were completely gone and remembered no more by my loving Father! “No condemnation!”
      What an amazing Redeemer!

What a precious truth… to know that the Lord promises, He wil be with us as we seek to share His truth with others. Our responsibility is to simply fill our minds and hearts with His words… He will bring them to mind when needed. Thanks for sharing this wonderful promise from His Word!

    • >> “Our responsibility is to simply fill our minds and hearts with His words…”
It is so important to MEMORISE His Word. It is daily food we can carry with us no matter where we are and what we are doing. It is a ready answer to anyone who asks us about our faith. It is ready ammunition for any attack of the devil. It is words of life to anyone seeking the Saviour. It is words of comfort to those in need. It is words of encouragement to those who are ‘down’. It is our direction when faced with a decision. It is . . . . . . . Yes! It is our daily Bread with the answer to our EVERY need. We need to memorise it and hide it in our hearts.

(I had to call the Ambulance to Myles again yesterday. His BP dropped to 58. He is in hospital and OK again. They have changed his medicine)

When my mother led me to Christ at the age of six years old, she shared a verse with me after I prayed to receive Christ as my Saviour. It was Matthew 28:20 – Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. During her lifetime, my mother taught me to observe many things the Lord commanded. He has been with me since, and will be till the end of the world. To know the Presence of God is to know victory in every circumstance.
I have travelled on single status for many years to countries and places not many would go to, even been on job assignments most threatening where others have died in. He was with me all the time. I thank God for in every experience of sudden or immediate fear, He was there and made a way of escape.

Amen His promises are ever true. Praise the Lord.

    • Thank you for sharing that verse – and what a great verse for a child “observe all things I have commanded you” along with the promise “I am with you always”. Thank you too for sharing the testimony of His presence.

Truly, we serve an amazing God who delights to undertake for His beloved children.
