ONE ESSENTIAL for victory

What is the ONE ESSENTIAL thing an ASTRONAUT needs to take with him when he ventures outside his spacecraft?
Tool kit?  Swiss Army knife?  Multi-wrench?  Water?  Food?

An astronaut would be in deep trouble
if he did not take with him
THE ATMOSPHERE OF HIS NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.

What is the ONE ESSENTIAL thing that a born-again Christian must take with him during his pilgrimage on earth?

THE ATMOSPHERE OF HIS NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.

What IS the natural environment of a Christian?

Col 1:13 We belong to the kingdom of God.

Phil 3:20, Eph 2:19  We are citizens of heaven

Eph 1:3 We belong in the heavenlies.

Hebs 11:13 We are pilgrims and strangers on earth.

John 17:16, 2 Cor 6:17   This world is NOT our home.

When we take the atmosphere of our heavenly home into the world, the devil and his forces will be defeated and the people of this world will see the living Christ in us.

C S Lewis
The world is enemy-occupied territory

A W Tozer
If we do not put the love of the world to death,
the love of the world will put us to death.

Mr Anon
Nothing is more contrary to a heavenly hope
than an earthly heart.

Vance Havner
When we stand on the WORD,
we cannot stand with the WORLD.

KNOW the Bible in your mind;
KEEP it in your heart;
LIVE it in your life;
SHARE it with the world.

We are the only Bible the careless world will read;
We are the sinner’s Gospel, we are the scoffer’s creed.
We are the Lord’s last message, given in deed and word:
What if the type is crooked?
What if the print is blurred?

About meetingintheclouds

I am Cloudwatcher, a 76 year old Christian lady, happily married to a wonderful man for over 50 years. We have five wonderful sons, all with at least one University degree and in top positions in their chosen fields. One son is still single but four have found perfect wives and they have given us five lovely grandchildren. I was born in England and while I'm proud of my English heritage, I am doubly proud to be a true-blue, fair-dinkum Aussie. My husband and I are committed Christians whose first priority is to love and serve our risen Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. My life story will tell of my journey from abuse to peace. I suffered 22 years of abuse, being constantly told I was totally evil and an ugly freak: no one would ever want me, so I might as well do the world a favour and kill myself.

    Wow! Awesome words, good friend. I was reading earlier of someone much moved by this same concern. When others look at us, will they see Jesus? I love the analogy… we live in the Kingdom! God just grants the world the privilege of seeing His Son in us, if we let Him shine! Thanks for the encouraging words! Oh yeah… loved the quotes by some of my favorites.

    • >> “When others look at us, will they see Jesus?” – a constant challenge.

      Vance Havner says on this:
      We are so SUBNORMAL that if we were to become NORMAL, people would think we were ABNORMAL!

      May we shine forth in this dark world, that the light of Christ is clearly seen and HE can draw them to Himself.

      We serve an amazing God!

    Just as Hebrews 11: helps us to understand… it is so important to remember we are citizens of His kingdom awaiting a wondreful eternity in His presence. Lord bless you.

    • I have triple citizenship – I am a citizen of Great Britain, Australia and Heaven – in reverse order regarding importance. One day soon I will freely give up the first two and take complete possession of my eternal inheritance. What joy! It is one day closer!

    We must have Jesus in our heart, the hope of heaven in our minds, and the Word, love and strength of God by the Holy Spirit to overcome the devil and sin in the world, till we reach heaven and see Jesus face to face. Praise the Lord that will be glory for us!
