Here’s an update on the family I asked you to pray for several weeks ago. Mom, Sandy; her son, Justin; his wife, Alora (she is 22 and in stage 4 cancer). Justin returned from Alaska and he and Alora are now living at Ft. Benning. He is still awaiting a duty assignment there.
Sandy, Justin, Alora, Alora’s mom and Sandy’s brother all spent a pleasant Father’s Day at Sandy’s dad’s house. The results from Alora’s MRI came back but Sandy said they are “not good.” I did not pursue that further with her.
Justin is looking into applying for a hardship. According to Sandy the Army can grant him a one-year leave-of-absence for their circumstances. Justine doesn’t know at this point whether the Army will pay him during his hardship. Justin said Alora and caring for her are his top priorities now.
Thank you for all your prayers for this precious family. As I said before I am enjoying a sabbatical from blogging. I’m also shying away from Facebook and my email, although I check email periodically. So, if I don’t respond to your comments, know that I love you all and, God willing, I will resume regular blogging and email activity after Labor Day. Take care, and God bless. I look forward to blogging again. This sabbatical is absolutely fabulous and God is doing some unbelievable things in my heart. I can’t wait to share it all with you.
I’ve been tempted several times to hop on and share what God is doing, but I’m resisting the temptation, hanging back, and allowing God to continue working in me. See you soon.
