Free from the Stronghold of Insolence
Written by Christian author, Pola Muzyka.
We sometimes get so caught up with the day to day mundane minute details of our own lives that we neglect the bigger picture and, in effect, become insolent. Our words and actions may take on a new behavior of rude contemptuousness.
If this occurs we no longer maintain control over our own behavior. Insolence sets in. When insolence sets in it brings strongholds of arrogance, pride, defensiveness, denial, and any number of strongholds it needs to defend its right to remain in the life of a host. Insolence rejects godly advice, but assumes its own interpretation of biblical teachings, or it’s right to reject biblical teachings.
Insolence walks hand in hand with the irresponsibility that comes from rejecting the need to submit to, and consult God in every aspect of life. Life without godly advice and Holy Spirit guidance may run rampant as a false pretext of self proclaimed goals and visions. A vision without God is no godly vision at all. A goal without God will eventually be useless, destroyed, and destroy.
Only God can take insolence and steer its objectives to His desire. However, the host may suffer if it does not reject insolence and submit to God’s will immediately. In effect, insolence can set a chain reaction in motion that reaches across boundaries and throughout generations. Insolence against God will not live to see its victory without God.
5 Biblical tips to overcome insolence:
1. The first and best way to rid yourself of this stronghold is to let go, submit to, and get humble before God.
Philippians 2:15 That you may show yourselves to be blameless and guiltless, innocent and uncontaminated, children of God without blemish (faultless, unrebukable) in the midst of a crooked and wicked generation [spiritually perverted and perverse], among whom you are seen as bright lights (stars or beacons shining out clearly) in the [dark] world,
2. Admit that you have not consulted God in your rush to fame and fortune or whatever has taken the place of God.
1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth [which the Gospel presents] is not in us [does not dwell in our hearts].
James 1:14-15 Everyone is tempted by his own desires as they lure him away and trap him. 15Then desire becomes pregnant and gives birth to sin. When sin grows up, it gives birth to death.
3. Don’t assume you know a matter. Check everything out with the word of God and God before moving forward. If you don’t submit to God in your actions and words, you are giving into your flesh and being insolent to God.
Romans 8:7-8 [That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God’s Law; indeed it cannot. 8So then those who are living the life of the flesh [catering to the appetites and impulses of their carnal nature] cannot please or satisfy God, or be acceptable to Him.
4. Don’t assume you are in Christ unless you are holding fast to the word of God.
1 Corinthians 15:1-15 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you— unless you believed in vain.
5. Let everything you do be done to the glory of God. These are the things that will last, these are the things that don’t set themselves up against his will, and these are the things against which there is no law and in which there is no insolence.
2 Timothy 4:8 [As to what remains] henceforth there is laid up for me the [victor’s] crown of righteousness [for being right with God and doing right], which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me and recompense me on that [great] day–and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved and yearned for and welcomed His appearing (His return).
1 Timothy 1:9-11 Understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,
