Christians are not weak like the world thinks. Christians have the power of God’s Grace that is witnessed in the eyes of God. Meekness is the character of a child of God that “shows” the surrendered life in Christ. The believer’s white flag of surrender goes up! I give up Lord! I’m yours! I’m tired of the old life. I’m totally yielded now! I want to be totally yours. I’m strong with all faith in the Savior. The character and make-up of the believer in Christ is thus “taken over” and thus “totally given” to God Almighty.
Meekness is a God-given power (under control) that is produced when people realize who Christ is. They realize the person of Christ. They realize the power of a Savior’s love for fallen man. They realize conversion is made by the power of Salvation. Christ stepped down from His Heavenly position as a Lamb of God who gave Himself for fallen man. By the Grace of God Christ tasted death like a man…so that you and I could experience the clean heart and a better life that comes with redemption of the human soul. Christ descended from Heaven, became a man, and made a way for fallen man to take hold of a better life with meekness and humility in the eyes of God.
A life of meekness in the eyes of God is not human weakness as the world thinks. Christian’s do not have the Spirit of fear. Christian’s are bold and dependant on the person of Christ. Christians know the power of God’s Grace and stay yielded to the authority of Christ! Surrender is death to self! Surrender brings life in the Spirit! Surrender is helpless without Christ! Surrender is hopeless without Christ! Surrender is through with the old life! A surrendered man is ashamed of things that used to go on before Christ came in. Surrendered to Christ is the attitude, “I can’t do it without you Jesus”. Pride is melted away. The Old Man is dead and buried never to be shown anymore. Meekness is a Spiritual characteristic shown and produced from the surrendered life found in Christ Jesus. God does not leave His children powerless. Glory to God, Christian meekness is not weakness like the world thinks.

Pastor Rick, thank you for this. I have seen too many times when the humble Christian backs down from a fight and forgives the insult and hurt done to them, only to be scoffed at by unbelievers and labeled as weak. It reminds me of that saying “Never apologize, it is a sign of weakness.” Only a truly strong person can humble themselves enough to forgive others for what has been done to them and to apologize for something they have done. And where does our True Strength come from? As you said, from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
A testimony of boldness that comes in Christ. Thank you for sharing dear sister…and by the way…good to hear from you once again.
I have understood the word meekness in Greek refers to a broken-in horse or strength under control. The broken-in horse still has the tremendous strength it had, but it is now under control.
We have the tremendous, resurrection power of Christ within, but it is under the control of Holy Spirit and used under His direction. We are NOT weak and should never fear opposition, for ‘greater is He who is in us, than he who is in the world’
What an amazing God!
Jesus, the meekest man on earth became the most influential. Praise God!. We must show His strength not ours for our strength is nothing compared to His strength.
This is another great article. God’s hand is all over you and leading you to do his will. I appreciate the love, knowledge and wisdom that you are putting into your writing. Again thank you so very much for sharing. I am placing this one along side your other article on my Google page. G+1.
My Brother and fellow servant for Christ,
Jesus is the only reason why I write these Blogs. God allows me to do it in my spare time. May Christ be glorified and magnified in everything I do and everything I write. My life as a preacher of holiness and right living is one that brings honor to Christ, and never dishonor. My life as a preacher of holiness and right living is one that testifies to the power of God’s Grace without disgrace. God showed me this truth through the scriptures and by the power of His Holy Ghost… many years ago. My life for 20+ years, as an ambassador for Christ is to represent Him, the truth behind His Holy Scriptures and the power of His resurrection and exaltation. May you continue to be blessed by these writings and the sermons I have published online for the cause of Christ. Scatter them anywhere you want…to Christ be the Glory! Revival and restoration are the specialities of Christ. Much needed at this present hour.
