Are you struggling with a life of sin?
Do you think you are incapable of accepting God’s love because of your sin?
Do you think you are unworthy and thus will not accept God’s love and forgiveness?
Do you think that you have done things that are so bad that God will never forgive you?
You are not alone. Many think and feel the same way. But let me tell you, God’s love and forgiveness is greater than your sin.
NONE OF US are worthy of God’s love. We have all been born into sin, all needing the salvation that God offers through His Son Jesus Christ.
If we have broken one point in God’s law, we are guilty of breaking them all. And we have all sinned and broken God’s laws.
That puts all of us on the same level. Not one of us is above or below another in God’s eyes. He is not a respecter of persons. He does not esteem one of us above the other.
He is not willing that any should perish and wants all of us to come to repentance.
That is what grace is all about. It is unmerited favor from God. None of us can earn it, none of us deserve it. But He offers it to us anyway because He loves each one of us equally.
The Bible makes it clear that Satan roams the earth, looking for people that he can influence into turning away from God. And once a person opens the door to him, he will not give up without a fight.
Jesus called Satan the father of lies. Satan will lie and manipulate circumstances to make you believe you can’t overcome your sin, to make you think that you are on your own with no hope.
But that is a lie! You CAN overcome, with God’s help.
None of us are capable of freeing ourselves from the bondage of sin that the evil one has ensnared us with. It is only through the power of God’s Holy Spirit that we are capable of overcoming Satan’s influence in our lives and living a life free from that bondage that so easily besets us.
God is capable of healing your heart and freeing you from the snare the evil one has you trapped in; but you must be willing to let Him.
He is waiting right now for you to turn to Him.
. . . And many of us here can testify to the REALITY of the forgiveness we have received and of the freedom from the bondage of sin and the victory over sin and the onslaughts of the world, the flesh and the devil. Praise God for the victory won for us through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ!
What an amazing Redeemer God!
Amen meetingintheclouds. Thank you.
AMEN! a powerful message of forgiveness through the grace of God.
Thank you Pastor Rob.
The enemy would use our feelings to make us feel lousy and inferior and doubt. However in faith stand on the Word of God – Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
No condermnation. If our Judge says so why should we be cowed by lies?
We must go beyond feelings to faith in His Word.
Thank you ptl for your thoughts. I had someone post a comment at On Faith and Writing that asked how they could accept God’s love and forgiveness with the sinful lifestyle they were living in. This article is a short version of my answer.
