Faith Child – Vain questions

Faith Child, take note of these warnings and do not fall into the pit of unbelieving debaters who would have you fall from or doubt  your faith, as would their master the devil. Instead, be careful to redeem the little time we have left for the spread of the gospel of love and peace through Jesus Christ our Saviour and Lord.

2 Timothy 3 2   For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3   Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4   Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2 Timothy 2:23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

2 Corinthians 12:20 For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lest there be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:
Psalm 15 2   He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. 3   He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. 4   In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
Romans 1 29   Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30   Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31   Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32   Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Titus 3:9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
2 Peter 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
Now, more than ever, we need to realize that the time is drawing close.  Not only to the coming of Christ and catching away of the bride….as far as what we feel the rapture is…but to our own short lives.  We need to dig deeper in to the Word of God and prove ourselves worthy, rather than being caught up in the things of the flesh.  We need to be wise to the devil’s tricks.  For it is his desire to dig a pit for us to fall in.
Psalm 7:15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
Psalm 57:6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.
Proverbs 26:27 Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
Ecclesiastes 10:8 He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
The scriptures are true.  The advesary will come against truth and true believers in every way that he can.  But watch ye therefore, and remember the words which God has spoken, for He will bring back to your rememberance whatsoever he has said unto you.  There are those who dig a pit to trap you, they have fallen in to it themselves.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Let us raise our hands humbly and  give God glory and honor for He has counted us , worthy to be  one of HIS.  We  do not have to stoop to the devil’s level, which is beneath us , when they devise evil against us.  Praise be unto God…and His magnificient WORD.  Glory be unto Jesus, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
Thank you God that we are Yours. Help us to be pleasing in your sight and to redeem the time for Your coming draws nigh.  To obey your Word in the fullness of the gospel.  Thank you for being our strong tower that we can run in to and be safe.  Help us to seize the opportunities you bring to us to be specific testimonies to those who are really sincerely seeking after you and please give us the wisdom of approach and the time to approach them with Your love that we may be Your channel of blessing to them to bring them to You. Thank You Lord for you heard us when we cried out to You and came into our lives. Make us Your testimonies for Jesus’ sake.  Move deeply in our lives Lord so we may tell the story to those who are seeking you genuinely that they may know You live and love us and them today. To God be the Glory.  Amen.
Yes, let us be safe (in being focussed) than sorry (being overwhelmed caused by our many activities and hitting the empty air) and a dead hero (accomplishing nothing).

  1. I agree we should avoid vexacious questions, put forward only to confuse the issue and to bring discredit to our great God. The questioner is not seeking an answer and would not listen to one given. He only wants to engender trouble.

On the other hand, when a question is asked by a genuine enquirer or where an opportunity is given to present the truth, we need wisdom to discern the difference and should be able and ready to give that answer, depending solely on Holy Spirit and the Word to supply the right response.

Yes, meetingintheclouds, we shall be ready to respond in season and out of season as the Spirit enables us. Let us remain focused to His glory. Thank you for your concurrence.

The days we are living in demands that Christians guard their testimony for Him. It seems as if the opportunities to be led aside from His will with the passing of each day. By God’s grace alone we will be able to remain fsithful to Him. Thanks for an important reminder.

Pastor Rob, thanks for your comments. We will remind each other lest we forget to focus and get distracted. That is why we need the family of God. Blessings.
