Faith Child – Can you or will you be trusted?

Matthew

Matthew (Photo credit: Missional Volunteer)

And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.” Matthew 10:21

a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.” Matthew 10:36

They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” Luke 12:53

Nothing else but this dreadful opposition to God and his gospel ever has induced or ever can induce people to violate the most tender relations, and consign the best friends to torture, racks, and flames. It happened centuries ago that those who were put to death in persecution were tormented in the most awful modes that human ingenuity could devise. They were crucified;  thrown into boiling oil;  burned at the stake;  roasted slowly over coals; compelled to drink melted lead;  torn into pieces by beasts of prey; covered with pitch and set on fire.  So dreadful a prediction was fulfilled; and, incredible as it seems, parents and children, husbands and wives, were found wicked enough to deliver up each other to these cruel modes of death on account of attachment to the gospel. Such is the opposition of the heart of man to the gospel! That hostility which will overcome the strong ties of natural affection, can be no slight opposition to the gospel of God.

And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death“….After  Christ had fortified the minds of his disciples by  promises of divine influence and assistance, he forewarned of  sorrows, troubles, and afflictions they must expect for their faith as the true followers of Christ should not only be persecuted and betrayed, and delivered up into the hands of the civil magistrate, by persons that were strangers to them; but even by their nearest relations, brethren, whom the nearness of blood, should oblige to the tenderest regards to each other. These would deliver up those that were so nearly related to them into the hands of persecuting men in power, in order to be put to death.

Do you love your brother?  Or do you really love your siblings?  In the world today, there can only be two things that can happen between brothers – either both will be the best of allies in the world, or one brother  become the worst enemy there is.

How many unwanted children have been killed through abortion by their very own mothers?  Was abortion a common thing of the past?  NO. Statistics show abortion is an increasing  world wide phenomenon.  Unborn children are being killed cold blooded. Man murders wife over cold eggs, murders for love and caused by jeolousy. Son kills mother, sister or father. How can one make sense of a world brimming with senseless violence? A brother hating his own brother is now very common.  I have cousins who don’t talk to each other. I know of people who don’t talk with their fathers.

Do you really love your brother with all your heart?  Or is it just an above-the -water-surface claim in words kind of thing. Love your brother my friend. Specially, your very own blood brother.

The Bible contains a complete map of human nature, and explains how and why widespread violence subsists today. These verses, when put together, reveal the true picture of mankind.

Chapter 17  of Jeremiah states, “The heart is deceitful above all things, anddesperately wicked: who can know it?” (vs. 9).

James explains the motivations behind widespread violence. “From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? You lust, and have not: you kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: you fight and war, yet you have not…” (4:1-2).

Human beings are driven by their lusts, and attempt to satiate their lusts by whatever means, even if it means violence. In the end, however, their lives are left empty.

Notice Christ’s words in Matthew 5: “You have heard that it has been said, You shall love your neighbor, and hate your enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (vs. 43-44).

Yet this cannot be done on human steam, because “the carnal mind is enmity [hostile] against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be” (Rom. 8:7).

This violent, darkening age will soon lull each person into thinking there is just a little more time. That is, until it is too late—and a whirlwind of end-time events crash into his or her life.

Instead, “Awake you that sleep…” (Eph. 5:14). Do not think that escape from a violence-filled Earth will come with the wave of a magic wand. It  requires action!

Do not let the day-in-day-out barrage of brutality numb you to the realities of this world. Stay alert, watch world events, and begin to “sigh and cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof” (Ezek. 9:4).

You can know for certain all of the conditions that prove we are nearing the end of this age are coming to pass as Jesus said.

Realize that there is little time left for humanity. “See then that you walk circumspectly [live carefully], not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Eph. 5:15-16).

The world was never meant to be filled with violence—and you can take comfort that it soon will not be.

Watch your back.. could it be a  brother or you at your brother’s back?
