Daniel's Answer to the King

Daniel was used of God because he availed himself when he was there at the right place and at the right time.

We see him at various points of great need and he proved that God was there with him and honored him. .So the Lord will be with us in the fiercest fire, in the most dangerous challenges and greatest burden and need for wisdom and discernment in the greatest trials of our lives. Let God arise and let us stand still and witness His deliverance.  Praise the Lord!

Daniel was promoted to a position of authority under the reign of King Nebuchadnezzr. “It is true that your God is greater than all other gods. He rules over kings and he explains mysteries. I know this beacause you were able to explain this mystery.” so said King Nebuchanezzar after his dream was interpreted.  It was through the influence of Daniel that the kingdom of Babylon was able to see some goliness brought to that godless time . Nebuchanezzar’s power was taken from him for seven years when he lived among the animals. At the end of that time  he said “I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up towards heaven and I prayed. I got my proper mind back and I thanked the real God. I gave honour to him who never dies. His kingdom will never end because he rules always and for all time. ”

It was Daniel who pronounced the judgement of God on the sinful King Belshazzar who forgot that God had taken the authority from Nebuchadnezzar and now it was his turn to face the  judgement of God.   MENE, MENE, TEKEL and PERES – His days were numbered as he had failed God’s test and his kingdom would be divided.

Later King Darius befriended Daniel but those jeolous of his influence and position convinced the king to make a law that the people could only worship the king and no other person or god. Daniel continued to pray as he always did to the God of Israel. He was thrown into a pit of lions. Daniel accepted the punishment without complaint. King Darius fought the law on Daniel’s behalf, but was powerless to change the consequences. While Daniel slept peacefully in the den of lions, Darious was up all night worrying. Darius was relieved to have Daniel brought out of the pit alive and his enemies were fed to the lions.

In the second part of the book of Daniel from Chapters 7-12, God sent messages to Daniel in dreams. He told Daniel what would happen in the future. Soemtimes Daniel had his dreams when he was asleep Daniel 7 and sometimes he was probably awake Daniel 19.

May we be faithful witnesses of God’s love, judgement and grace to all who will hear.

Let us be true and faithful like Daniel to stand for God even when the masses are calling this is the way, walk with Jesus.

If we will only submit, God will  use us for His glory.  Amen.

Above all

By God’s grace alone, we will stand and be faithful in the midst of the days in which we are living. May His grace be upon all of us. Thanks for this important series.
