Free to Feel Worthy

Free to Feel Worthy

by Christian author Pola Muzyka

The world will push us down and tell us that we have no value unless we follow the world’s way of doing things. Following the world seems like an easy path for someone who has lived in this trap. But the world continues to invent new and better ways to sin.

For those of us who know and have tasted the truth [true message of deliverance and salvation through Jesus Christ], following the world’s way of doing things is the greatest struggle of our lives. We resist worldly ways [temptation] because we know the truth.

The question of whether or not to give into sin no longer confuses us or controls us. Nor are we condemned if we slip, repent, and get back up. The next time a religious spirit tries to hold our past against us, or a worldly spirit tries to condemn us for our faith, all we need to do is remind them that all have sinned and fall short. There is none righteous. No not one. But we are made the righteousness of Christ and we have a great reward awaiting us.

Not by our works, least anyone should boast, but by His spirit.

So why did God call some of the greatest sinners among us into salvation? Because he doesn’t want anyone to perish. What does it take for a sinner to be saved? Believe.

5 Biblical steps to worthiness in Christ:

1. Believe that Jesus is the one who took your sin on him, that he died in your place, that he was buried with sinners, and that he was resurrected so you could receive righteousness.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I passed on to you first of all what I also had received, that Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for our sins in accordance with [what] the Scriptures [foretold],    4That He was buried, that He arose on the third day as the Scriptures foretold,

2. Call on the name of the Lord.

Romans 10:13 For everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord [invoking Him as Lord] will be saved.

1 John 2:1 MY LITTLE children, I write you these things so that you may not violate God’s law and sin. But if anyone should sin, we have an Advocate (One Who will intercede for us) with the Father–[it is] Jesus Christ [the all] righteous [upright, just, Who conforms to the Father’s will in every purpose, thought, and action].

3. Pray for His mercy.

Luke 18:13-14 But the tax collector, [merely] standing at a distance, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his breast, saying, O God, be favorable (be gracious, be merciful) to me, the [a]especially wicked sinner that I am! 14I tell you, this man went down to his home justified (forgiven and made upright and in right standing with God), rather than the other man; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.

4. Accept His [grace=unmerited favor] goodness. This is God’s gift to you.

Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath] of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

5. Put Him first and don’t listen to anyone who rebukes you for this. You are free to love Him and free to be worthy of His love–even free to love your enemies.

Hebrews 10:22-25 We have been sprinkled with his blood to free us from a guilty conscience, and our bodies have been washed with clean water. So we must continue to come to him with a sincere heart and strong faith. 23We must continue to hold firmly to our declaration of faith. The one who made the promise is faithful. 24We must also consider how to encourage each other to show love and to do good things. 25We should not stop gathering together with other believers, as some of you are doing. Instead, we must continue to encourage each other even more as we see the day of the Lord coming.

Psalm 103:17 But the mercy and loving-kindness of the Lord are from everlasting to everlasting upon those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him, and His righteousness is to children’s children–

What an uplifting reminder..that when we slip up, and confess, He is quick to forgive us. We needn’t listen to the voice of the enemy who would drag us back into the place from where we came; no, we are moving forward, our eyes solely focused on Jesus Christ alone!
