School starts again in many places this week, and will start for everyone else in the days and weeks to come.
Please pray for all our teachers, and teachers you may know personally. If you have school-aged children, please add their teachers to your list.
Teachers are some of the hardest workers we have on the planet. And they are facing increasing administrative responsibilities and frustrating obstacles each year. This year they face more budget cuts, furlough days, larger class sizes and fewer resources. Frustration is a thread that runs through teachers and administrations alike in ever-increasing degrees.
We do have a number of excellent teachers who love their what they do and the kids they teach. But those numbers dwindle each school year.
Whether you have school age children or not, the best possible thing you could do for teachers, aside from praying, is volunteering at a local school. Volunteers don’t require special skills or college degrees. Any school would be thrilled to have people show up to help. Schools have so many needs. One hour a week of your time would be a blessing to any school. Not a moment of your time would be wasted. You will enjoy untold blessings and eternal rewards.
p.s. Sorry if this prayer request sounds as if I were standing on a soap box.
Teachers here in Australia need prayer too, as well as the universities where they are being produced. The teachers are being taught so many things contrary to the Word as well as so much ‘political correctness’ and child behaviour control (or lack of control) which is detrimental to our children.
I hope your soap box is big enough for a number to join you, and that many write to politicians with their concerns.
Father in heaven, thank You for being our Best and Master Teacher. We pray that You will please help and teach the teachers in schools and everywhere to be Your instruments of blessings to the children they will teach and supervise. In the absence of absconding parents, give teachers the wisdom to stand in the gap, in the face of growing obstackes in limited funding, resources and cheer, give them your joy in service and in dedication to creative service, help them carry on the good work that is always underestimated. Bless each one with good health and strength, patience, long-suffering and be their beacon of encouragement, and help them to remember to be living examples of hard work, love, joy, peace, honesty and patience Under extreme stress let each remember Your call “Come unto Me all you who are heavy burdened, and I will give you rest.” Most of all, love each one into Your kingdom and help each one of us be a channel of your blessing to them. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
