Faith Child – Wonderful Peace, the gift of God’s love

There are times in every Christian’s life when God seems so far away and yet there are times when He seems so near.

WHEN I PAUSE IN THE HUSH OF HIS HOLY PRESENCE
WHEN I A M SO STILL I CAN HEAR EACH WHISPERED WORD
WHEN I PAUSE TO PRAY I ENTER HIS CATHEDRAL
THESE ARE THE TIMES WHEN GOD SEEMS SO NEAR

THERE ARE TIMES I CANNOT FEEL HIS PRESENCE
WHEN THE  CLOUDS OF DOUBT OBSCURE THE MASTER’S SMILE
BUT WHEN I M STILL ENOUGH TO HEAR HIS GENTLE WHISPER
THEN I KNOW MY LORD HAS BEEN THERE ALL THE WHILE

These are precious times like no other, when we know we are in His Presence – how awesome is He, bathed in His holiness, we do not want to leave and wish it will last forever.  It will be forever, when we see Jesus. But until then, to have heaven on earth, we must keep close to Him in sickness and in health, in penury or wealth, in sadness or in joy, in company or alone, whatever He brings us through. In all things in thanksgiving. How can we have thanksgiving except when we know in His presence is fullness of joy and we abide in Him. In His Presence is peace : ‘The peace of God that passeth all understanding’ (Philippians 4:7). You cannot understand this peace, you cannot imagine it, you cannot even believe it in a sense, and yet it is happening and you are experiencing it and enjoying it. It is God’s peace that is in Christ Jesus. What does he mean by that? He is telling us that this peace of God works by presenting the Lord Jesus Christ to us and reminding us about Him

Have you experienced His wonderful close presence? If you have been too busy with self and in your endeavour to achieve fame and all things worldly I daresay you have not experienced His close presence. He must have first place in our lives, we must be totally surrendered to Him – yes, He must be Lord of our lives and we must take time to be in His Presence.

Some in the throes  of near physical death have been given the privilege of experiencing  His close presence and of returning to a changed life on earth  with the Lord. We who are children of God  do not have to wait for that because indeed spiritually we have been snatched from spiritual death to life and as we became His, His wonderful peace of hearts to stay as He remains the Controller of our lives.

Perhaps you have strayed and no longer feel His presence in your life. Turn back to the Lord.

Perhaps you have not found this wonderful peace and hush that only the Lord can breathe into our souls. The only way is through Jesus Christ, accepting Him as our reconciliation with the Father through His death and sacrifice on the cross of Calvary for our sins, and then asking Him to be Lord of our lives.

Turn to Him today/tonight and receive God’s peace, whatever your circumstance.

God bless you.

  1. ptl2010 says:

Amen.. It is wonderful to experience a fortaste of His peace in the storms of life, even as we await eternity and precious time with Him.

  2. How true is the Scripture that says the peace of God passes all understanding!
We cannot explain it. We cannot understand it. But, praise God we can – and do – EXPERIENCE it and we are filled with wonder and praise.

What an amazing God who allows us a ‘taste’ of what is waiting for us in eternity!
