Anticipating His Tender Mercies In this day and age, it seems that we must make a lot of noise to be heard. We often must be hit over the head to command our attention, Music is louder than ever. Drama and the visual are overstated, more and more spectacular. On the other hand for many of us. that solitary walk on the beach; that trek through God’s wondrous works deep into the forest is so greatly anticipated. Perhaps we measure things by and through their dramatic contrasts. God’s mercies are so like that. The danger is that we tune into God’s obvious works and fail to read the tender and personal subtleties that are only found in the often minute details. They may be  referred to as tender mercies . Tender,  because they always whisper to challenge our power to recognize His voice in every wind…..every breeze; every glorious sunset or sunrise; every blade or blossom; every bush or birdsong. As we say goodby to the day, we yearn for His creativeness in each new way of expressing His love anew; every sunrise totally unpredictable: Our souls every vision treasured, be they grand or simple. And that’s the joy and surprise in it ……anticipating His graces – to be unfailingly unique and be delivered by an inexhaustible Creator.

About 4hispraise

I am quite simply a child of our Lord God. What good that I have done or may do, I pray will reflect solely on the presence of The Holy Spirit who speaks for me in all things.

  1. >> “unfailingly unique” – Amen!
I think God delights to surprise us and we need to ‘stay tuned’ or we might miss some of His greatest blessings.

  2. ptl2010 says:

Greetings from the Sea of Galilee where we took a boat ride and learnt of the normal daily west winds which blew fthrough the wind tunnel through the Rift Valley to the Sea of Galilee. We also learnt of the contrarian east winds. When the whispers of the east winds became strong they brought the storms which Jesus and His disciples experienced. It is marvelous that the whispers of nature is God speaking to us about weather changes and there is the whisper of His Holy Spirit, to help us discern good from evil, wisdom and foolishness and truth and obedience to His Word. When we listen it brings us great joy and peace and when we disobey, not only does His Spirit nudge us to do the right, he has given us a conscience that miraculously drives us to despair or a guilty conscience that drives us to our knees in confession and repentance. Praise God He even speaks to us in the stillness of the night when sleep escapes us until we know we have to seek The Lord and say “Not my will but Thine be done”.

  3. Anticipating grace…a daily habit of mine…always wake up to find that my feet hit the floor running to find what my day will bring…from Him. Blessings!
