Faith Child – Grabbing Opportunities

2013 Opportunities

2013 Opportunities

Faith Child,  a new year brings fresh opportunities for personal growth in the spirit,  body and mind and in ministry in the family both at home and in church and in the world at large.  Will you seize the opportunities which would bring tremendous value to your life and others, or bypass them in 2013? Will you grasp opportunities with both hands or face them with  resistance – unbelief, selfish desires and pleasures, complacency and other priorities?

Matthew 13:16
“But you have God-blessed eyes—eyes that see! And God-blessed ears—ears that hear! A lot of people, prophets and humble believers among them, would have given anything to see what you are seeing, to hear what you are hearing, but never had the chance.” (MSG)

Will you see the impossibilities with the natural eyes and see possibilities with God?

Matthew 19:26

“Jesus looked hard at them and said, “No chance at all if you think you can pull it off yourself. Every chance in the world if you trust God to do it.” (MSG)

Will you enjoy all that God has blessed you with and share them with those in need?

Ecclesiastes 9:7
Go then, eat your bread in happiness and drink your wine with a cheerful heart; for God has already approved your works. NASB

“Seize life! Eat bread with gusto, Drink wine with a robust heart. Oh yes—God takes pleasure in your pleasure! Dress festively every morning. Don’t skimp on colors and scarves. Relish life with the spouse you love each and every day of your precarious life. Each day is God’s gift. It’s all you get in exchange For the hard work of staying alive. Make the most of each one! Whatever turns up, grab it and do it. And heartily! This is your last and only chance at it, For there’s neither work to do nor thoughts to think In the company of the dead, where you’re most certainly headed.” (The Message)

Let us live right and wisely  in 2013 from the beginning to the end and give Him thanks for every good and perfect gift and opportunity comes from the Father above.

Ephesians 5:15-16

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” (NIV)

Response: Lord Jesus, please help us to redeem the time You have allotted to us in our lives on earth. We need Your help and power to live right in this increasingly evil world. May our life’s priorities be according to Your Word – that we will seek You first and then all things will be added unto us in Your good will,  time and pleasure. May we be ever mindful of Your presence in our lives that we respond to Your voice  and reason of opportunities. Help us trust You enough to obey You in all we say and do. Make us Your channels of blessings and instruments of Your love we pray in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

  1. I think Ephesians 5:14-16 are very appropriate words as we enter this new year. We need to ‘arise, take hold of the light of Christ, walk worthy of His calling, redeeming the time, understanding His will.’
Time is running out and we should be on guard that we don’t waste any opportunity to reach those who do not know our Lord Jesus and rejoice in His salvation. Praying with you as you pray . . . “Make us Your channels of blessings and instruments of Your love”

  2. Amen and cheers (as I lift my glass of red and let sips of it settle on the bread roll I just had to eat. Blessings are appreciated when they are enjoyed and not tainted with guilt of self-loathing! 🙂 He is such a Good God!
