Faith Child, do not be surprised – every Christian faces the battle for victory over self, sins and unrighteousness. If you have suffered loss because of defeats in 2012, be encouraged that the Word says we are conquerors in Jesus and need no longer live in defeat.
Our adversary is the devil who roams the world physical and spiritual seeking whom he may devour. He wants your mind for that is where the battle is fought. If you are depressed, deflated, and look at your problems with the perspective that they are greater than our God and Lord Jesus Christ, you will lose the victory. So watch what you think for that is the door through which the devil gets victory over you.
1. Know you are a child of God – the Lord of lords and King of kings. Everything and everyone is subject to our God, Lord and King. He rules over all and is more powerful than any other – the devil, your problem or yourself .
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
2. If He be for us, in Him, no one can win over us. We are victors in Him.
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Roman 8:31
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
3. We are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus, not in ourselves
But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37
4. Do not be tempted to think or entertain dark thoughts which come from the devil.
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Philippians 4:8
5. Choose to submit to God and resist the devil and his temptations, tricks and blackmail tactics.
Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you James 4:7
6. Act fearlessly in victory and trusting in His Word – don’t sit in your doubts and fears. Some people are content to just know that they can be victorious in Christ. They lack the perseverance and the courage to take God at His Word and do not launch out in victory, to experience it. You must act victorious in Christ to be victorious!
But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself. Hebrews 7:25-27
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. 13 Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. 14 For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:11-14
Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves,[a] you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17 But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart to the standard of teaching to which you were committed, 18 and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. Romans 6:16-18
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:10-18
Faith Child, we dare not lose for we stand on the powerful Word of God – He will never leave us nor forsake us. We are winners in Christ, victorious in every good deed. Praise the Lord!
