One of the things in my studies of late has been the Names of God. All of God’s Names have meaning, even more so than I understand of course as I am no theologian. That does not prevent me from being awed at the many Names and Titles of God!
Consider our very lives lived before God; we live in the world, but are not really part of it. Our physical being is here on earth, our shell if you will. The part of “us” that makes us unique however, is only borrowing this imperfect tent we live in…this tent will return unto the dust. Our “uniqueness” if you will, this is our spirit; our spirit’s true home is not here but with God in His kingdom.
Yet, while we are here in this temporary existence we call life, we must function here however imperfect. We must play our part in a sinful world that the Creator Himself has called us to perform. Thankfully God in His wisdom has decreed that we should have many resources available to us to aid in our walk as aliens in this world…for aliens is what we are and will be until the return of Christ.
Not to be disrespectful of our Great God, but we have all heard I think of the saying in today’s world; “there is an App. for that”. No matter what is happening, no matter the problem, the joke goes, “there is an App. for that”. There is a grain of truth to this however! Now think of God; think in this way, there is a Name for that. God has given us His Names for many reasons, among those reasons is for our reassurance!
The following is a wonderful list of His Great Names, by no means all of them, but a fair number of them.
