Belief from the heart personally takes hold of what Christ did. Personal belief allows God’s forgiveness to flow into the soul and character. God speaks, “Pardon upon the unjust”…and the heartfelt believer is pardoned and made just…by God.
The soul is “converted”. The moral character is changed. An act of God’s Judgment has taken place. Not because “you” asked for forgiveness, but because “you” trusted what Christ did for you personally.
Pardon is granted to the heartfelt believer by the action of God’s Grace. Pardon brings into the believing heart a new life goverened by the action of the Grace of God. Holiness of heart is enacted by this same power of God’s Grace. Where sin abounded (in the past life of an unbeliever). Divine Grace does “much more” abound (in the present heart of a believer in Christ).
The object of heartfelt belief is not you… it’s, “The Savior”. Keep Christ in memory. What Christ did for you personally. What He’s doing right now…Stand in Him…with heartfelt belief.
