We are going home today – my church mates and I. We have spent 8-12 June 2013 at a secluded golf course resort in Johore, Malaysia.
It has been a time of refreshing and renewal in the spirit, body and mind . A time of bonding amongst us with new determination to support one another in ministry and living for God. It should not be just for this week, Lord help us keep our commitment to You and to our church mates and when we forget as we so often will , please remind us and fill us with a resolve that can only bring glory to You.
We have been truly blessed to be in His Presence, encouraged by His Word, taught with a passion and knowledge which could only be initiated, empowered and anointed by His Spirit. We have had fellowship sweet shared among brothers and sisters – the highs with laughter and the sad and sorrowful with tears – it has been heart to heart, genuine and empathising. Delicious food and fruits, restful sleep and safety and protection when with free abandonment we participated in loving rivalry in sports and creative exertions.
God has been good. God has blessed. …but for what? Blessings for self and in addition, for God’s glory. We waited on The Lord and He answered our soul’s yearning and our spirit’s call to be drawn closer to His. Now it is our turn to listen to hear the heart cry of those in spiritual, physical and mental needs. Will we hear or be selfish? With the blessings we have been blessed? The Lord will empower us, but are we available or do we return to our pigeonholes or luxurious homes to be people isolated, warped and captive to our own desires, not the Lord’s?
God’s desire is that with a revived personal relationship with Him, we must want to obey His will, we want to obey Him in everything! That obedience releases the heart and hand of God to use us, to bless us, our family, loved ones, community, nation and every nation on the earth! No wonder the Apostle Paul could pronounce under divine inspiration:
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3 , NIV).

To be “blessed” means to be “rejoicing in and receiving all the blessings of the promised redemption . . . a blessing is a bountiful gift” (Wilson’s). It speaks about being “happy, to distinguish with favour” (Bullinger’s). It releases an abundance of God to us in prosperity and liberty. It is God’s benediction upon us!
The “obedient to God” people experience a release of blessing and power that no one else experiences. God lifts those people up by making them great (with opposition and persecutions, of course!). There are always benefits to those whom God lifts up. The promise of personal, national and universal blessing shows us the power of God at work in us to enable us to overcome every obstacle that life throws at us. It shows us how God wants to hold us up before the world, with the declaration, “Look what I can do with a person who listens to and obeys Me!”
It is all about knowing Jesus!
It is all about knowing what He has already done for us!
It is all about knowing what He wants to do for us now!
It is all about knowing what He wants to do with us here on earth!
It is all about having a destiny, and knowing it!
It is all about knowing we are saved to be a blessing to our present generation –now! – Wherever we may go throughout the world
As we discover the truth of the Abrahamic Covenant blessing – and walk in it – we will see the power of the Gospel released in and through our lives and the Church to impact every nation on earth. The key to revival is right here. It is in our obedience! Obedience to the voice of God!
In Genesis 22:15-18 , God made it very clear to Abraham that “ALL THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH SHALL BE BLESSED, BECAUSE YOU HAVE OBEYED MY VOICE!”
The Church of the 21st century needs to discover afresh God’s “keys” to impacting the world. It is not in fancy programmes or gimmickry, nor in adopting “a more professional approach.” We have to discover that God still holds to the principles He delivered way back in Abraham’s day. If we will listen to His voice, and do what He says, we will know good success. We will live in His blessings and, at the same time, will be impacting others all around us. Let’s make the difference!
Right now, let us adopt an attitude that we are going to bless other people, more than our looking to be blessed by other people. When we go to church, let’s go “to give” (our worship, praise, love, finances, Spiritual Gifts, help, whatever is necessary to lift things up) rather than “to get.” Instead of being focused on our own personal problems, let us see that there are scores of people much more badly off than we are. Know that:
JESUS CHRIST LIVES IN US!
HE MAKES THE DIFFERENCE!
See and know that He has saved us and blessed us to be a blessing! The blessings and benefits of the Abrahamic Covenant are there for everyone to lay hold of.
It all begins with our ears, and impacts with our obedience! Our ears pick up the mind of God, and our obedience releases the power of the Word of God.
Abraham believed God!
What about YOU?
Who do you really believe?
Believe God, and you will know without a doubt you are blessed to be a blessing.
25 The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.
26Curses on those who drive a hard bargain! Blessings on all who play fair and square!
27 The one who seeks good finds delight; the student of evil becomes evil.
28 A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stump; a God-shaped life is a flourishing tree.
29 Exploit or abuse your family, and end up with a fistful of air; common sense tells you it’s a stupid way to live.
30 A good life is a fruit-bearing tree; a violent life destroys souls.
31 If good people barely make it, what’s in store for the bad!
