Philippians 1:4-7 4
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy 5 because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. 7 It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.
Observation and Meditation:
Paul is talking to his readers. The Philippians, the church in Philippi. In this part of the book, Paul is thanking them and praying for them. Paul talks about his joy in praying and thinking about them. Why? Cause of the passion of the church in regard with the gospel. Paul wrote this even though he is in chains. Imagine, you’re in chains.. You should be in pain but the pain was erased cause of his joy in serving God in partnership with the Philippian Church. Even though Paul is not there with them, He is always with them in prayers and thanks giving and they share God’s grace. Paul also talked about “sanctification” in terms of what God has started in you, he will finish it. He will help you in your Christian life. You are never alone.
1. How are you helping the church in sharing the gospel? Even if you are working or studying you should have a passion in sharing the gospel everywhere. We should be salt and light. Share the gospel by how you live, be a blessing to your co-workers or classmates. Thank God cause He is dragging people to you, to share His love to them.
2. Always be reminded that He who called you will finish the work till the coming of Christ Jesus. You are not alone in your Christian life. In your ministry, work, family, struggles, adversities etc.
3. Don’t forget to pray for the workers of God. Pray for your bretheren.
